  • Yes. Just don't put your head under.

  • No, and it hasn’t been safe for many years. I stay I jomtien and walk the prom every day. The things I’ve see, photos hard to believe. Stick to the pool .

  • Ive never had a pool infection. One can usually see a dodgy pool. I try to swim in well maintained, less crowded salt water pools.

Yes, a diluted solution of rubbing alcohol can be used to help dry your ears after swimming, but it's crucial to use it correctly to avoid potential irritation or damage. A 50:50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar is a common home remedy to dry out excess moisture in the ear. This mixture can help prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi that can cause swimmer's ear, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Years ago I used to baht bus down to Jomtien and swim and it was ok. Now, neglecting likely big runoff from these heavy rains, is the water there safe for swimming?  I know now and then I have read about discharges and stuff, but in general is it safe, maybe further down the stretch of beach?  One of my friends finally booked his Thailand trip and liked the idea of pattaya but he really wanted some beach time without traveling to Phuket Karon beach, or Krabi Ao Nang, or other places.  I told him day trips to Koh Larn would be OK as maybe a few days down on Ko Samet.

Sometimes you might choking. Some brown things are swimming on top of the sea near to the beach.

A few km south of Bang Saray, you'll find Sai Kaew Beach. It's a navy beach. The water there is gorgeous.

I was there once in 2008 with some locals who had military ID.  Plain ol' falangs can't just walk in.  Unless things have changed.  As for Jomtien, I live 50 meters from the beach and I can see a big, brown blotch close to the shore every Monday morning.  Haven't been in the water for 17 years.

I used to kayak the shoreline from Pinnacle Resort early mornings before the wind and surf picked up.  Having "seen some things", I'd never swim that water.  There were some stretches near outlets where the stench from runoff made it unpleasant.

BTW, I loved the Pinnacle Resort (shameless plug, I know).  Lots of great swimming pools and a wide assortment of rooms, villas, etc for almost every budget.  And they used to have a great breakfast buffet.  I assume they still do, but haven't stayed there since Covid. (Edit:  I'd add that when they started getting a lot of Chinese guests, they added a separate buffet in a different building catering to their tastes, which I thought was a great idea, even living in China like I do.  They do eat weird stuff for breakfast)

I mentioned the resort name to narrow down the stretch of beach I'm referring to. "Jomtien" is a big area.

Please do not come to the Bang Saray and Sattihip beaches. Stay in Jontiem and Pattaya. 🙏

There's another beach right there. Leave ID at the front gate to left as you enter.  Drive aways and look for signs to pay entrance fee, it'll be to the right.

Drive aways and turn in entrance slip, drive aways and you have lots of parking.
