Yes, but his being a mexican national was questioned. It is possible to be an ethnic  chinese Mexican.  Many people try to used altered passports, it is why the new standard is biometric with fingerprint scans. My new passport is a veritable  hitech device;

-multiple versions of my photo

- different colours of metallic foil on the covers

-an embossed decal  on the back and 

 on my personal information page that disappears if you heat it by rubbing it with your finger

- a visible chip and antenna

- magnetized color changing ink

 

This is the new norm for advanced nations.Thai passport and Mexican passports are  primitive in comparison.
