Immigration appointment 18th July 2025 for first retirement 1 year extension visa

Featured Replies

In Phuket. This year. the Google map GPS. longitude, latitude printer. out. Make it Portrait are not landscape. What does this mean? It means the logical and best viewed in landscape, meaning wide and not so high. Common sense But no, they wanna in portrait. Why? So the officer does not have to bend his neck to look at it.

And don't forget to bring a blue pen!

  • Your list seems complete to me. The bank letter is best to obtain on day of application. It's a simple statement confirms you as owner of the account and balance on day of application. 100b

In the future, it's always best to get the list of requirements directly from immigration before you will attend for the extension.  For Bangkok that might be a bit arduous, but some of the offices do

Also I understand that I need a letter from my bank too ? is that correct.

Yes. You need both a letter from the bank and a 3-month statement, showing fund have been in the account since two month before application for extension of stay. The bank letter and statement are valid for a week. Fee is normally 100 baht for each, so total 200 baht.

Same day as you apply for extension of stay you need tupdate your bank book with today's balance and make photocopies of bank book-owner's page and the balance page – some immigration offices might however require copy of all pages in the bankbook. Photocopies shall be signed.

If you're with Bangkok Bank they don't do one year statements any more - they will only do up to six months.

If you want one year you request it in the bank and they will email it to you the following afternoon.

I know because I asked for one three weeks ago and that's what they told me. No idea about other banks though.

This thread was advice for First extension.

Bank statement for 3 months sufficient.

In some cases the bank account would only be few months old.

Only BBL requires time (days) to produce 12 month bank statement.

Other banks can do it on the spot.

Good reason alone to opt for different bank imo

Do the photo copies of the bank book have to be in colour? Thanks

No.

As mentioned earlier CW has good printing/photocopy stalls on Level 1.

You can do all your own copying prior to going to immigration or just hand them your pp, bank book etc and tell them what you are at immigration for.

They also do photos. 4 for 100b

Depending on when you arrived you need either the TM6 or the newer Digital Arrival Card reference number.  Note this is needed for some other things later on so keep a copy of the DAC with the reference number.  I needed it to obtain a Residence Letter and was lucky to have kept a copy.

I'm a little concerned about the tm. 6 requirement, or TDAC. Prior to arriving in Thailand I filled in the TDAC, however i was never sent an email or given a reference number. I repeated the process and same result on the second attempt.

When i did arrive at immigration on my non o 90 visa, i expected to be challenged about the TDAC however nothing was said, and my passport was correctly stamped with 90 day visa. I hope this isn't a problem...

I've just done some research and it appears that i should be ok, as the imo will have my details for the tdac ref. Or i should be able to retrieve them at the immigration office...

Ok, managed to get it done, wasn't that straight forward for me at least... I'll update on what i missed soon.

Thanks for all your help...

There were a couple of forms i wasn't prepared for, i believe they were mentioned in general but no specific numbers were mentioned in this post, and for me that was an issue. TM2 was one and the other I'll add tomorrow.

However the real blocker was the information regarding my lease, and specifically the title deed. My lease contract  didn't include it, and as a standard i don't know if they do.

I've attached the "new"? requirements

The officers flatly refused my application until i spoke to my agent and managed to locate the information.

Can you share any details on the information your agent was able to locate?

If someone rents an apartment, which "Land Office sale documents" (phrase used in the document attached above) are/may be required.

For me, this has been the Blue Book for the multi-apartment building (copy, signed by the owner/landlord), accepted at CW for ~ ten years. (Along with other domicile-related documents.)

The officer explained to me that my first application was missing an official document showing the condo owners name. That was needed so that it could be cross checked against the owners ID shown in the lease agreement.

It kind of makes sense i guess.

I presume what you had was also good enough...

For reference the other forms that are required which haven't been mentioned are :-

That's great thanks, yeah i was handed those when i got to CW.

But as they weren't flagged in my post i incorrectly thought they wouldn't be required... My bad..

Always expect the unexpected.. 🙂

In the past, fewer documents were required for apartments, vs condos.

Makes sense for what?  We tell them where we live, and provide evidence of this - should be enough.  They can / sometimes-do come visit to verify we "really live there."

If they think the lessor is doing something fraudulent, they can take it up with them.

This has nothing to do with whether our honest extension-applications are valid - just a way to create hassles / encourage agent use.  Use an agent, and all these issues / document-requests somehow vanish - don't need any of this, and never a "home visit" (per reports), either.
