Thank you for a really great and insightful post which I really enjoyed reading, and it mirrors my beliefs entirely and I truly believe that the main objective of Trump and his cohorts is retribution for those who spoke out and/or acted against Trump and his team of clowns.

As has been reported;  Any conduct that took place during that campaign or even in most of Trump’s first term is now outside the typical five-year statute of limitations for federal crimes. There is no specific conduct from these 2 during the past five years.

 

Attorney General William Barr spent tens of millions of US taxpayer money  investigating how the 2017 intelligence assessment was put together, requiring many CIA officials to hire lawyers. The investigation  special counsel, John Durham, also used a grand jury to scrutinize the actions of Brennan, Comey and many who worked for them over how the FBI and the CIA handled investigations into Russia’s effort to interfere in the 2016 election. The investigation came up with nothing.

It was in December of 2016, five months after the initial intel came in via liaison and clandestine sources about clear cooperation between the campaign and Russia.....totally unrelated to Steele.

 

John had just recently become aware of the dossier, and pretty much dismissed it. His awareness was months after the Russia issue came to light, so trying to link the investigation (which John handed off to the bureau, as required) is like saying time is not linear. Maybe in MAGAstan time is not linear, but in reality, it is.

 

By the way, even if John or Comey broke any law (they did not, according to Durham), the statute of limitations expired a few years ago. Hard as it might be for a MAGA to grasp, the entire point of this "investigation" right now is to divert from the Epstein List shoot show.

John told me a funny story. I think in January 2017, all the intel chiefs had to travel to NYC to meet POTUS-elect at his tower. John, Comey, the ODNI and the Chief of NSA had to give a classified briefing. At the end, the guys discussed informing POTUS-elect of the "pee pee tape". They decided it had to be Comey who would go privately to inform the guy. The group decided POTUS must be made aware, if not aware already, what was out there, in the event it subsequently came up. They did not want him to be blindsided.

 

John did not tell me if Comey reported on any reaction, and I assume Comey did not tell anyone anything.

Well, IMHO, having lived for almost 80 years of watching politics, especially Russia/US antics, I now see a US that has been changed from a democracy to an oligarchy just like Russia.  Trump has appointed the Rich of the Riches to most of the cabinet positions even though none seem to have any idea on how to run those particular agencies.  In addition they seem to have been ordered to replace any senior officials of their agencies that do not follow the president's agenda 100%.   He uses the agencies it seems to me to take revenge on anyone that does not seem to worship him and his dreams of a throne in his kingdom.  This is my impression anyway, but he seems to stil praise Putin most of the time and by using the seat of the government to control what people even are told all the time is scary and IMHO just like life in Russia.  I sure hope that I awaken from this nightmare soon.
