I joined up with a friend, Ray for a tour around Kanchanaburi. I was riding my Rally 250 and Ray on his KTM.

Day one  we met up at the PTT garage on Thepprasit road fairly early a took an indirect route to the ferry crossing, Phra Pradaeng Pier, here.

On the way there we had to cross under the start of The Devahastin Bridge, here.

We had ride under the lowest access to loop around to cross on the bridge. I had to take my helmet off and lay my head on the tank bag and I was just short of the concrete.

After crossing the Chao Phraya, we rode to this point.

We follow an irrigation channel west until we continued onto Kanchanaburi.

Today, day 2, Ray and I rode Kanchanaburi Sinakharin Reservoir Loop. Our first stop was at the car ferry pier, here.

We then back-tracked to ride through the jungle lane to see if we could spot some wild elephants, we failed, but there was plenty of elephant dung on the lane.

Our next stop was at Golden Ship Pagoda Viewpoint, here.

Today day 5 of our ride was a straightforward ride from the Mon Bridge to Kanchanaburi, mostly a dry ride.

This morning Ray rode back home and I rode up to Tham Krasae Death Railway Bridge, here.

From here I was riding to see the Giant Raintree when I decided to take a track to photograph a small range of mountains, here.

From here I rode back to Kanchanaburi, another nice ride.

Today, day 7. I rode to a rain tree not far out of Kanchanaburi to take a few photos, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/s4e4HJjQp1izCwv78

I then rode onto the Giant Rain Tree a popular tourist stop, here.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/ipYAvi63AYzmsqtz6

From here I went to re-visit a decrepit bridge, but it had been repaired! Two pics with the CT125 shows how it was before.

I then returned to Kanchanaburi in the drizzle.

Today, day 8 of the ride I woke early at stupid O’clock with the intention of photographing sunrise at a spot I found just out of town. As soon as my bag was tied on the rain started, so I gave up and coffee in my room.

Later I wandered around the garden of the Smiley Frog taking some photos. So, a lazy day before my ride into Bangkok tomorrow.

Day 9 I rode from Kanchanaburi to Bangkok, an easy ride until I got caught in traffic for about an hour. The high heat and humidity really drained me.

I stopped to recover near my hotel with a cold beer and some food and had a great night out later.

Day 10 was my last day and taking a route east before riding south actually cut the ride to under 3 hours.

A great ride with Ray, total distance 1823km, and time to start planning the next ride.

Thanks for that, I'm lucky to live there. There is a lot to see here, I get on my bike @ 3am at least twice a week and ride until the sun comes up and then turn around and go home.

I'm taking a week long scooter trip in Sept. I'll look at parts of this, thanks.

Easy off roading along farmers tracks etc

Great trip report, many thanks.

My favourite province.

Sounds a great trip.

I've driven to all those places except these two:

1. Kanchanaburi Sinakharin Reservoir Loop. Doable by car, or only bike?

2. Road up to Pilok. Decent road?

Your trip is a reminder i must make the effort to return to Sangkhlaburi, lovely place, like nowhere else in Thailand.

Car or bike, take the elephant road, but there is a ferry if you want to bypass it. But best part in my opinion.

Piloc road ok, not the best but no issues.
