Lipton's disappeared from the shops a couple of years ago, and good riddance. It's the most insipid, nasty rubbish you can (or can't) buy.

Many years ago I had a cousin that was married to a guy in the garment industry. They holidayed in Sri Lanka it was a work and vacation thing..

Americans are not big tea drinkers but she did notice upon visiting a factory that packaged for Lipton that it was not only the worst tea that went into the bags but it was the worst part of the tea leaves. Basically, the trash

Make your own like we do - dead easy! Example: 1kg of Brooke Bond Red Label loose tea is thb345 plus thb35 delivery on Lazada - comes in a re-sealable zip lock bag. Empty drawstring fabric tea bags also from Lazada cost a paltry thb14.67 for 60 of the 6cm x 8cm size. We buy 500 at a time and beloved spends a hour or so doing a couple of hundred or so in her spare time. One heaped teaspoon of loose tea is difficult to tip into a smaller bag so don't be tempted to get smaller. I get 2 mugs out of one bag but I don't like strong tea, others will use 1 bag per cup and infuse longer. If you want the links they are https://www.lazada.co.th/products/orna-100-string-teabag-i4673799049-s19246793328.html? and https://www.lazada.co.th/products/brooke-bond-red-label-tea-1kg-zip-lock-pack-i2722785042-s9860441030.html?

Red Label is the same as the Tesco Value Red Label we always used in the UK, same taste as PG tips but cheaper. For the last 10 years we got used to finding the work-arounds one needs in LOS!

Thanks for the tip but can't you afford a teapot?

Tea

A British thing

Tea is just gay coffee. Change my mind.

Where are you from Mr Khao Homo?

I drink about six cups a day, good for anti-oxidants and blood pressure. Come over to my place and drink a cup with me. I shall not try it on with you, so your bum will be safe. Convinced? 555

For the British teas there are some alternatives (from Sri Lanka I think) in Gourmet which are a fair bit cheaper than Twinings and a ton better than Liptons.

I drink Taylor's Yorkshire Tea, grown in Ceylon, and brought to me by all my friends who visit me here in Siam from England. Lipton's is rubbish, Twining is well overpriced. Typhoo was the favourite for many years, but went bust a year or so back. What happened to Brooke Bond?

Plenty in Makro and Lotus here in Phitsanulok, although I do not think you should use the word Lipton's and tea in the same sentance

 For reference (Google)

In Thailand, Lipton tea products are owned and distributed through a joint venture between Unilever and PepsiCo called Pepsi Lipton. They manufacture and sell Lipton branded ready-to-drink beverages, including Lipton Ice Tea. Additionally, Suntory Beverage & Food Limited (SBF) and PepsiCo Inc. have a joint venture in Thailand, called Suntory PepsiCo Beverage (Thailand) Company Limited (SPBT), which also distributes Lipton products.

After an absence of 2 1/2 years (before 14 years living here ...) i jumped over once more and saw many changes , example i find nowhere in the local Lotus  nor Big C   tea bags  ..... local ones or Lipton's  ?? Any suggestions ??

Coffee enough supply ..... i wonder about the tea , as so many Brits here it can not be no tea available 🤭

I remind everyone that tea bags have been found to release a huge amount of microplastic from the material the bags are made from. Change your habits people! Buy in bulk/boxes. drop the bags. 😎

I buy in Marks and Spencer’s as I like their decaf tea. Bring loads with me, and ask friends to bring for me too. M&S is expensive in Thailand tho. I bought some in Central Festival.

The shop opposite Jomtien bus station, Foodmarket, Second road, has a lot of  different tea brands, including Lipton, at least two days ago. They also have much other Western food like English ham and so on. Pantry, further down on the same street, just opposite where the bahtbuses turn down to Jomtien Beach Road also have much Western food. Otherwise Lazada is a good choise. They delivere normally within  3 days.

The best Oolong tea is from the mountains of Taiwan. We don't drink any other tea at home anymore.

Just a question.

Is Yorkshire tea really much better than PG Tips? See both in Villa, but Yorkshire much more expensive.

Little bit more tea in the bags wrt Yorkshire.... more taste for one bag in a beaker!
