July 16, 2025Jul 16 Met an interesting guy while doing laundry. He asked how long I have been in CNX and I replied 7 years. This guy said he was from Seattle,is an American citizen and was born in China. He had been in CNX for a week and just loved it. He was going to buy a condo next week for 5 Million baht. I asked if he had a long term visa and he said "no need because when I buy the condo I can stay as long as I own the condo". He had told me he was 60 years old and retired. I asked him where he heard that buying a condo allows him to stay in Thailand without a visa. He said the real estate agent told him there were many long term beneftis to buying a condo. This lead to a 20 minute serious converstaion about the need for all foreingers to obtain a proper visa and I that I never heard of buying a condo entitles the owner to right to stay in the country without a visa. He may have confused Thailand with other countries that allow such benefits after the purchase of a condo/apartment. He did also state he wants stay in Thailand forever. I suggested he call his real estate agent as soon as possible. I am not sure he believed me. Has anyone ever heard of such a tihng in LOS?
July 16, 2025Jul 16 No, he is confused or has been duped. Now if he has already One Million US dollars and other qualifications AND buys a USD 500,000 property in Thailand he could qualify as a Wealthy Global person under the LTR visa scheme.

July 16, 2025Jul 16 Its only bridges that allow a stay so long as you own one. It just so happens, I have a bridge I can sell you.

Does it have any existing AN members already living underneath it? I am quite interested but not really looking for sitting tenants. Taking into account the number of trolls on AN I suspect it might be a bridge of multiple occupancy.

There are rules tho, inc the value of the condo I think it more likely the agent is a lying scumbag tho!
