To clear up a misconception-  AOC has NEVER claimed to be Jewish.  She identifies as Catholic and has never practiced any form of Judaism.  She said in 2018 that she may have had a Jewish ancestor hundreds of years ago, but there's no documentation, only family tradition.  She was referring to the possibility an ancestor was a Sephardic  Jew in 15th-century Spain who was forced to convert to Christianity.  It is not unusual for people with Spanish or Latin American background to have had a converso  as an ancestor.  https://jewishcurrents.org/what-aocs-jewish-heritage-means
