I consider Thailand the bad guy in this.   Cambodia offered to let the International Court adjudicate and Thailand refused.

Netizens are finally outraged.

They hit a 7-11.

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has activated emergency contingency plans. In response to the hospital attack, all patients at Panom Dong Rak Hospital were successfully evacuated. Similar evacuation measures are now underway at nearby Kab Choeng Hospital.

Other reports said the hospital was already evacuated, so why would the Thai soldiers be in there waiting for an attack? In the video, it doesn't look like the hospital itself was hit, and the camera person seems to not feel a need to duck down.

Staged? Did Cambodia give a heads up about it? But civilians are definitely dying, so I'm not suggesting the whole thing is fact.

They're expendable?

We're busily feeding the growing hordes and getting in more supplies for the just-in-case.

You are lucky to still have stores that are open. We're not far from the border and all the local stores are closed.

Wife and I are ready to go at a moments notice. Are go-bags already packed in the car. Mother left to spend the night at the grandparents house in Surin.

Hard to tell if that house wrecked in Kap Choeng was due to a missle or is it just the normal falling down, garbage-strewn crap that one sees normally.

Nuts - why don't both parties de-escalate

Neither side has grown enough hairs on their chest yet to be able to back down ... Will probably continue for another week or 2.

They are completely crazy, on both sides of the border, stupidity at its finest, under the guise I have a bigger one than you.
And only because Thailand cannot stomach that ruin being awarded to Cambodia.
There is enough misery in this world already, please get a grip and sit down and not harass or kill civilians over it, it falls under that category by now.

I live in Phanom Dong Rak which is approximately 15 km away from this "clash". I can hear some of it from my home.

What I can clearly see in front of me is a long line of vehicles as they gather their children from schools, police vehicles and ambulances. My wife and her mother are slightly worried but as far as I'm concerned, until I see helicopters and/or fighter jets in the sky, why panic?

It was headlines this morning on BBC news and reported that the area had been evacuated. Not good.

Well that’s not just a few random shots is it ?

Jus back from Lotus in Prasat. People doing their things, no panic just some soldier presence

Not over yet (13:55) as I just heard a few more explosions and jets flying over us.

Am I wrong or is this the Thai Army flexing their muscles to justify their existence, and the enormous amounts of money that they suck from the treasury every year?

On another note have they proven that the Sisaket bombing was done by Cambodian? If so, this would seem like a major escalation.

Nah. It's about natural gas reserves on or near Koh Kood.

If so then why are my family and their whole village fleeing?

Well I would imagine that it's quite a frightening situation, that's why. I'm not necessarily drawing any conclusions here, I'm just engaging in speculation. If you have any local knowledge to contribute to this thread, I'm sure we would all love to hear it.

UPDATE
Two Dead, Including Child, After Cambodian Rocket Attack on Border Community

Two Thai civilians, including a young boy, have died following a rocket attack by Cambodian forces on a border community in Surin province. The Thai Army has condemned the assault as a brutal and inhumane act targeting civilians.

The incident occurred around 09:40 in the Kab Choeng district of Surin, close to the Ta Muen Thom temple area near the Thai-Cambodian border, where recent tensions between the two nations have escalated.

Cambodian troops reportedly fired two BM-21 Grad 122mm rockets into the Thai side, striking a civilian area within the Border Development Centre in Kab Choeng. The bombardment hit Ban Chornk village (Moo 2) in Dan subdistrict, causing injuries to three residents.

Shortly after the attack, Kab Choeng Hospital confirmed that two of the wounded had died, a 34-year-old man and a boy aged approximately 7, after succumbing to their injuries.

In an official statement, the Royal Thai Army strongly condemned Cambodia’s use of heavy weaponry against unarmed civilians. The spokesman denounced the act as “violent and inhumane,” stressing that the shelling of civilian targets inside Thai territory constitutes a serious breach of international norms.

Emergency evacuation procedures were swiftly implemented by authorities to move residents out of harm’s way.

Well, for a start it's nonsensical because Cambodia has no hope of winning any war with Thailand.

It's just silly.

Cambodia is completely owned by China. If push comes to shove Cambodia has a lot more support than you think. Challenging them is a dangerous move. China has way too much involved to let them get decimated by Thailand. There is a line where if you push too far and start to seriously endanger China's interests, you will find Cambodia suddenly has resources you didn't count on.

The Royal Thai Army has provided updates on Cambodia's attacks targeting civilians within Thai territory. It reported that nine civilians have been killed in Sisaket, Surin, and Ubon Ratchathani, with at least 14 injured as a result of these actions.

The affected locations include: - The area around the PTT gas station in Nong Ya Lat Subdistrict, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province: six civilians killed and 10 injured.

- Dan Subdistrict, Kap Choeng District, Surin Province: two civilians killed (including an eight-year-old boy) and two injured, who were transferred to Kap Choeng Hospital.

- Dom Pradit Subdistrict, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province: one killed, one injured, and homes damaged.

- Ban Kruat Subdistrict, Ban Kruat District, Buriram Province: homes damaged, farm animals killed, and one civilian injured.

- Bak Dai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province: homes damaged.

Well, they already have more tanks than Thailand. But with 0 fighter jets and economy a fraction of the size of Thailand, the number of soldier fit to serve being considerably smaller, it's extremely hard to see Cambodia prevail in any war with Thailand.

China  wouldn't even get involved with its great ally Russia in a war, I doubt they'd get involved in a Cambodia Thailand skirmish, particularly as they're also closely linked to Thailand and still hope to get infrastructure projects done there.

Are you asking for "other" knowledge? Because as far as local gets, you can't get more local than jets flying over your house and the house shaking when there's detonations near by...

I know that you are not trying to rile up people but distinction helps.

Exactly.  For China it is all about money.
