The question you want to be asking is not why the Baht is strong but why the US dollar is so weak. There are a host of factors pressing the US dollar down mainly coming down to forward inflation and due to tariffs, heavier government spending due to BBB and loosening of restraints on the money supply. There is room for the US dollar to weaken further.

There should be nothing going on if Thailand respected the borders since 1906... but they don't recognize any verdict nor that of 1962, 2012 or latest a few years back by the ICJ...as they don't recognize the ICJ... So in fact who is making the problems???

Inflation=decrease of monetary value due to price hike

 

So the currency of the nation of  higher inflation rate will be weaker.

Thailand has accepted that the temple belongs to Cambodia. ICJ ruled that the immediate area around the temple was Cambodian territory in 2012, which is a 0,35 square kilometer area mentioned in Cambodia's initial filing in the 60's. Cambodia have since tried to lay claim to a larger area of 4,5 square kilometers, which Thailand opposes.

Cambodia is, by digging trenches, fortifying both existing and new positions in the area, and, seemingly, laying mines in the area since March, in violation of the MOU (and this is just a few instances of the MOU violations they've perpetrated in the area). They then decided it was a good idea to open artillery fire on civilians, including children.

Tuesday 30th July at 17 00 hours . 15 large Thai army tanks passed through Prasat and heading to the Os mach border also 3 military carrying lorries .  I am told that evacuees staying in Prasat & Surin schools , have not been given permission to return home . Gas stations are opened but their convenience shops ( e.g. 7-11 etc ) are closed as are the stand alone 7-11s and Lotus express . Some mama papa shops are open . The main " Lotus " store and "The One " supermarket are open . You can sense the tension of uncertainty regarding possible fighting starting again . .

Meanwhile, flights beetween Bangkok and Siem Reap operate as usual.
