That’s nice.

You still can’t prove your economic claim.

It'll not even begin to cover the 11 percent dollar devaluation he's caused on the exchange rate.

Rebate?

So they DO understand that it's the American consumer, not the importer, and shirley, not the manufacturing country, paying the tariff taxes!

Gosh, a bigly 25% return of the new tariff taxes the average American family pays.  How MAGAnanimous!

Oh, the winning never ends.

If you drive a car, I'll tariff the street
If you try to sit, I'll tariff your seat
If you get too cold I'll tariff the heat
If you take a walk, I'll tariff your feet

TACO!
Cos I'm the tacoman, yeah I'm the tacoman

Your grasp of tarrifs and reality is as distorted as your political views.

The tariff is a tax on those exporting to USA - what the importers 'pass on' to wholesalers, distributors and consumers locally (if anything) is another issue.  As Trump said - last time around China 'ate' most of the tariffs (they kept the prices the same to importers and did not up their prices).

So now I can buy that tb1000 bottle of California Cabernet for the reduced tariff price of tb 600?  In fact, more like a case Cabernet for $609.

If you're still focused and/or concerned about the Epstein Files, you've got a serious problem. It's a ridiculous sideshow of no consequence whatsoever. It's deranged Democrats clutching at straws... again. Be careful what you wish for, as your old buddy Bill Clinton might take some heat, too.

I assume the Trump haters on here will be refusing the cash then? 😁

I've seen reports of this  $600.

I don't need it!

I'm thinking of giving it back to my country when this bill gets passed. Its for a good cause.

So do you understand... that if the price is raised for the consumers to pay the tariff, sales will be reduced and this will reduce the amount of orders given to that country for that product. People will simply find a replacement rather than paying exorbitant prices for something that is not necessary in life. Sounds like a win-win situation. Would you rather pay 100 USD for a chinese product that will break in a year or less, or pay 100 USD for an American product that will last several years or decades?

People buy cheap Asian goods because of that they are cheap. Cheaply made and cheaply sold. But usually, American goods are produced with higher standards given the risks of lawsuits and refunds are simply made.. You can not sue a company in Thailand or China for selling low quality goods. That is what they do.

Silly rabbit, it's a tax on goods entering the country, paid by importers, with cost passed on to the consumer.

NOT paid by exporter, nor by exporting country, nor by the shipper, nor by socialist gremlins under Xi's bed.

Trump's not the sharpest spoon in the spork drawer.  Of course China kept the prices the same, they weren't paying the tariffs.  The only way to have the foreign manufacturer "eat" the tariffs would be for them to lower their prices.  That din't happen.

Is that why Trump is forcing Japan to lower the safety standards on imported American carpmobiles?

“Unlike U.N. standards, which are used by Japan and European countries, pedestrian safety is not a factor in U.S. vehicle standards,” a senior official of the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry said.

Trump has particularly been keen on attacking Japan’s standard to protect the heads of pedestrians, which he has referred to on social media as Japan’s “bowling ball” test.

He isnt lowering UN safety standards. He is making their poorly thought out, expensive, Socialist standards  more appropriate for a high volume, high speed, large car, enormous country

i would attack this as well... to think of putting my head into something or my childs as a safety to walk down the street is ludicrous.

Is this on top of the 5000- Dodge check?

DODGE check did not materialize because SS payment to 400 years old people and illegals were all false. DODGE could have scooped up more  waste and abuse if they would audited DOD but they could not. The real money is wasted in DOD where they give contractors billions for seemingly trivial works.

It is unbelievable the BS you see and hear on forums like AN from people with no idea about how trade works in the real world.  Have you ever heard of the term currency hedging?  It is used when agreeing to buy a product from any country at an agreed price point.  The taxes, duties and tariffs are another thing built into the Contract.  When buying rice from Thailand it is inevitably bought over a long period of time and for a minimum and maximum amount 2000 Tonnes over 12 months.  In the Contract the tariffs and taxes are all accounted for and the currency rate is hedged and then the deal is done or not.  That is how international trade is done - not deal by deal or item by item.

The buyer/importer pays an agreed amount based on the TOTAL COST of the products - including taxes and duties - if they are massively increased the Contract can be canned or changed. The usual Contract allowance is from 5% to 15% variation in import costs - any more than that and the Contract can be canned 0 the Buyer also hedges the currency but it is done differently through EFTs and is a huge part of the currency exchange markets world wide.

What usually happens when costs increase is that the buyer (importer) then seeks the prices to be dropped, or they will buy from elsewhere.  Then the importer also has to consider what other products will be offered to consumers in competition to the ones that they are buying. If a competitor is buying from a country with far lower duties, taxes and fees, they have to consider what price point their product will be competitive - that is why sometimes there is no price increase - even decreases if the competitor can get a much cheaper supplier. It is very complex and very fluid - but that is how international trade deals are done.  Unlike the woke experts in the media saying the costs are all 100% passed on to the consumer, that is absolutely totally a false statement.

...........ezzackly.

Please, Brer Xi, please don't let Trump throw us in the tariff patch!  Please lower your prices.

And when the manufacturer doesn't lower the prices, the tariff taxes are passed on to the consumer.

He's demanding Japan lower their safety standards in order to import substandard American product.

The nerve of those Japanese setting safety standards appropriate to their driving environment!

No you numpty - they cancel the Contract if the seller refuses to eat most of the extra costs, because the price will then be too high for the consumers. Likewise, could also they take a bit of a hit and lose some margin for the same reason. Economics, Trade and Business.  You should stick to gender studies.

Do you have to establish your superior achievements before you criticize Biden?
