Likely not. But it's probably amongst the 50 dumbest Trump tariffs levied so far. More to come, no doubt. Just say one unkind thing about him, just to annoy him a tiny bit, and here comes another tariff.

It's called (VITO) very insecure 13 year old economic policy. It would appear that his mother and father were absent on the job when he was growing up, someone sure dropped the ball.

It's up there.

Why doesn't the US import Canadian beef? It's as good as USDA, and of course it's so much closer - just truck it across the border. Or is Canadian beef getting hit with that 36% tariff? Both countries must protect their beef industries because I've never seen a Canadian steak in the USA nor a USDA steak in Canada.

The US does import Canadian beef, at zero tariff.

However, the drought in American beef-producing areas possibly extends to Canada.

Wow... truly amazing content - all McD's are serving Big Macs - who could have imagined such things -

You are truly .00009% smartest in the world as you always claim - - Do they all serve fries too? Now that would be an amazing coincidence...

No I think that distinction is held by the UK, cutting itself off from tariffs free trade with the world’s largest developed market a little over 20 miles off the British coast.

I think its the most sensible tariff he's come up with obviously thinking of the good of his people incentivising them to swith to KFC now. Have to get the army Ito shape somehow.

Yeah, EXCEPT his 'big beautiful bill' also eliminated the tax on 'silencers' - yes, silencers.

I guess you can afford a 200% tariff on your anti-psychotic meds.

Obsession with leftists is not healthy either.

I take no medication but if I did they are covered 100% under my healthcare insurance

Even if I had to pay Trump has slashed prescription drugs prices.

I still win.🏆

Let's hope he succeeds. He actually signed an executive order telling drug companies to lower prices. I don't think any of them have responded yet.  And someone in the Senate inserted into the big beautiful tax bill a provision that stops Medicare from being able to negotiate drug prices. I don't blame President Trump for that.

Sorry .  Only your uneducated minions can decipher another uneducated members post.

I certainly can’t with the exception of a few words.

If you’re broke I’ll buy you a steak (beef) and egg breakfast with as many cups of coffee you want.

You most likely live in the East County.  Lakeside, El Cajon, Santee.

A few good breakfast places out there.

I’m closer to the coast.  Your choice of venues.

There are smarter people in the world than me.  Unfortunately, you are not one of them.

I am smart enough that I don't try and impress people with how smart I am...

From your endless spouting of statistics, you can't even see how much smarter your GF is than you are....

The point of the tariffs is to build up local production, not to find the cheapest beef on the planet.

Or at a minimum compete on price with fair trade.

Not sure why this is so hard to understand?

Getting the play by play, second hand, on negotiations, seems like a poor window to peer through, no?

At the end of the day, we're looking for improvement not complete capitulation.  But as in any negotiations, you have to be willing to walk away.
