Changing Writing From English To Thai

Featured Replies

Some 2 years ago I bought in Thailand my Compaq Presario whose key board has both English and Thai fonts and which was set to write English, but also had a key to easily switch the fonts from English to Thai. It was the key immediately on the left of the key used to write the number “1” in the main part of the key board, not on the far right. I just tried that key one time and never used it as I only typewrite in English. In these 2 years I had to bring a couple of times the computer to a repair shop to have some problem fixed and perhaps they did something because this key does not work any more, just now that my Thai wife says that she would like to try the computer herself. I would greatly appreciate a suggestion. Thank you in advance.

Hi there

You could try the following. Go into control panel and from there double click on the Regional and Language options icon. This should open the Regional and Language options applet. On the Regional and Language options applet select the Languages tab and click the Details button. This should open the Text Services and Input Languages applet. If not already selected, click the Settings tab on Text Services and Input Languages applet. At the bottom of the applet there should be a button Key Settings. Click the Key Settings button to open the Advanced Key Settings dialogue. Select the row from the resulting list in the Advanced Key Settings dialogue Switch between input languages and click the Change Key Sequence button. From the resulting Change Key Sequence dialogue ensure the Switch Input languages is checked as well as the Grave Accent radio button.

Hope this helps,

Malc

The attached image is probably more useful - the steps are numbered in the order they need to be carried out.
