Here I am, sitting on my patio with a mug of tea at 7:15am, looking at the mountains.

The temp is 25c, the sun is shining, the birds are tweeting.

Waiting for a pal to turn up so we can go cycling/walking/drinking coffee.

I consider every morning in Thailand to be a great morning, I'm always really happy to wake up here. Beats the hell out of countless other places that I can think of.

Nice view of the mountains 👍   Maybe after your cycle/walk attend to those weeds in the yard, please. 😊

One might have thought your time would be more productively spent tidying up the garden?

Next door (deserted past 12 years) is not my concern.

Also jungle behind my house, part of the fun of living in the boonies.

Nice view of the mountains  mate , Im happy for you!

Could it be you're looking at a big wall instead to mountains? And what kind of jungle is it? 😂🤗🤩

I tend to agree.  The only thing I actually miss is waking up in the mountains to 2 feet of new snow and a day of skiing.  But those days are but memory now.  I skied for 50 years before heading to Thailand and was da*m good at it and highly athletic in my mid-50s. And taught skiing as a PSIA instructor.  But - "To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven."

Now - in my 70s and life is just different. Yeah, waking up in rural Thailand every morning is better than pretty much any other place that I can think of.  The Lamyai trees are full of fruit and we're still picking fresh mangos off of the trees. The garden is a flourish of color and diversity here is a rural Thai village surrounded by mountains.  Life's good.

Awesome! That´s the spirit! Love it! My day started wonderful as well. Waking up beside my wife, waking up and caring for the children and send them to school. After that a coffee on the patio of our shop. Soon time to see what´s for breakfast.

Bamboo jungle,

Back from 15km cycling and 4km walking round the local lake.

Encountered a local out for a walk with his bull. Bull has shoes on!

Agree.

Want as much green as possible.

Too much concrete wasteland in BKK, Chiang Mai, etc

Troll posts removed.

Next step ......... remove trolls.

I hit off at 6 am this morning, was finished by 7.30 ( ten holes ). My caddie picked some bamboo shoots for me on the way. By 8, I was enjoying a coffee at my favorite watering hole.

Now if only they would bring back the 69 baht Basque cheese cakes.....

Gawd - It's amazing that someone would want to troll this upbeat, positive thread about the good reasons to live here.

My solar panels. Easier to clean on a wall than the roof.

That’s the least problem that can happen to anyone, it is worse for those who are dependent on you, or maybe for some a relief
