Bangkok Bank app face scan problems

Go out of province and try to get anything done with Bangkok Bank and see what happens.

Out of which province?  I opened my Bangkok Bank account in 2005 in Bangkok but moved to Rayong in 2022.  Other than having to get a local ATM card to avoid paying 20 baht every time I use it, I've had no issues.

  • I initially had problems, but realized it was the lighting, so I tried a different room with better lighting and never had anymore problems.

I had problems at first, but once you get the lighting right and 'obey' the instructions about showing teeth and smiling quickly enough, it works fine.

You still pay an annual fee for having an ATM card.

Yes, of course.

the facial recognition nonsense which they are inflicting on us

The government can stop this madness in a heartbeat if they want to. Looks like they want us all to leave the country.

Whilst setting up, it was frustrating - face recognition.

If having problems, give it a try with very good lighting.

Also told me to center my face in the 'green frame' but the frame sometimes wasn't there and sometimes disappeared as I was doing the smiling with teeth or the blinking 3 times.

The green frame toggles on and off on sensing a face is present ot not.

I got the same error message to take off my hat, when, of course, I wasn't wearing one.

Probably you have a full head of hair. No problem, if bald (he said, semi seriously).

Will we have this same hit or miss goat rope when we have to do a face scan to tap more than 50K? Anyone had a problem sending more than 50K?

If your phone has the capability, is the fingerprint scan acceptable by BBL Mobile Banking, in lieu of a facial scan? Can't seem to find anything definitive on this with a Google search. If so, would seem superior, with all the facial scan problems being reported here.

That's two separate things. Biometrics to unlock the phone on the one hand, which could be a fingerprint scan in lieu of a facial scan as you wrote. The bank's facial scan, on the other hand, is just that, there's no fingerprint alternative.
