Apparently, this is a picture of her prior to having the work done so they didn't make a bad job of it.

Yes, and don't forget that some Thai women have that uncanny ability to identify fools and simpletons because they are a much easier prey.

I dont understand the OP, and I dont care to reread it.

Two things can be true at once.

1.My closest two friends here are Brits. They are intelligent, well adjusted people.

2.Most Brit tourists and a LOT of Brit expats I see here are losers. Can't speak for Brit tourists in other countries, but can use extrapolation  techniques^^

You think this site is bad try Quora. Endless dumb stupid anti British questions. Why do the British spell Realize incorrectly. Because in English is realise so we spell it correctly. Why did the British name a town in Lincolnshire after Boston Massachusetts. Why did the British name a city in the North of England after New York. Why is there no cultural history in Britain. Why did Britain adopt the US Harrier jet. Now if it is a wind up it is rather tiresome. Probably just sheer ignorance. I like to think it is a wind up and that Americans aren't that stupid.

Thailand is great.

Actually there is a massive drought this year being too wet is not a problem. They need to build more reservoirs as a most of them are drying up but that will anger the Nimbys so they are actually considering desalination but that will p155 off the green lobby.

Look at the Paris Olympics 1st US 2nd China 3rd Japan 4th Australia 7th UK. So true but dig a little deeper.

Gold Aust 18 GB 14 Silver Aust 19 GB 22  Bronze Aust 16 GB 29. Total Aust 53 GB 65. So that is 12 more medals to the GB than Australia. Australia just bad losers.

Dig a little bit deeper again. Australia Gold 18, GB 14.

Australian population 28 million, GB 69 million.

Australia creamed you in terms of medals per capita. To be fair, you were better at being runners-up.

Tough one for them........ if you can't get fit, monied and young......for which combination should you go?

Best bet I guess....is as you suggest.....fit, monied, but old(er).......best get my dumbbells out and start saving up.

You missed my point. Who they are physically attracted to and who they choose to be with are not the same thing. I was just pointing out that many women are physically attracted to older men. Note I used the word "older", not "old men"... that could be someone as young as 40s.

I don't know how old you are, but at some point, you lose the ability to be physically attractive to anyone, no matter how often you use your dumbbells LOL.

Everyone wants to be British, just look at our amazing country, overrun with filthy rapists and Child Molesters, a police force not fit to police a bus queue, a government of traitors and communists, a broken justice system, a ruined health service, ruined education system infiltrated by life's failures who have now decided to "Teach" as they "cannot do"  Freedom of opinion and speech that will get you 3 years in the nick, jails full of foreign aliens with alien views and the desire to destroy the host nation....Jesus, what more could you want? Maybe it is simply penis envy?

The Reform party activist got out of his padded cell.

It's the reason they want to destroy the NHS so that anyone still in an asylum is let loose to join them

Depends where the Brits are that you meet.

If you spend your life in Pattaya, you're not exactly going to see the best of any country...

Don't get me wrong. There are reasons for less seedy Brits to live in Pattaya - lots of English spoken and on the menus. Decent choice of food, cheaper than Bangkok, and some nice beaches.

But it's where the seedy sort seem to flock to.

I'm British, and proud of it.  However, there are times, sometimes on a daily basis, when I feel extremely embarrassed by the actions of my fellow countrymen.

When the members of the "Anti-British Brigade" wake-up, and realise that some of their own fellow countrymen leave a lot to be desired, maybe they can give an honest appraisal of their own shortcomings.

I'll not hold my breath for any honest answers.

Why would you be proud to be British? Was it an achievement, or were you just born there? If people didn't run around feeling special to be any particular nationality, there wouldn't be so much conflict. You are what you are.

So you have no pride in your home country.

You are made what you are by a lot of factors...... including culture, upbringing, education etc.

Pride does not need to develop into conflict. Until the recent spat with Cambodia I could have cited Thailand as a country where national pride is cherished and doesn't spin into conflict.

I am what I am .......I am British. That is a fact  -  not a label.

Whilst I think people from Britain are definitely one of the more degenerate groups who go to Thailand, I have noticed from the people who run the site and visitors that there seems to be a underlying issue amongst other male visitors that runs past what most people would notice, a large douse of envy. You see, most Thai women are are happy enough with Thai men, mostly from family pressure or just simply what's comfortable for them to deal with regarding language and proximity with school/work/hobbies. However, with the foreign element I have noticed in my two+ decades of experience in Thailand that English guys, after Thai guys, have often been the ones who have the put the least amount of effort with the women (meaning real attraction). Even some guys from there who are basically bums seem to do better that the vast majority of other groups, and then you have the younger ones who are passing through, doing remote work or doing a Muay Thai camp often get women who end up simping for them, similar to the local Thai men who are desirable. It's a mix of looks and energy and can't be taught.

The best thing is not to hate. Just accept these desirable Thai men and younger English guys are going to be banging the women you want and keep it moving if you're not actually attractive to women. That can vary in different locations, but in Thailand that is who I have seen having REAL attraction from women.

You may have been here in Thailand for 20 odd years but 20 of the same years knowledge and observations.

It’s nothing to do with the men , attractive /rich/ young/ , Thai women will always choose a rich Thai man over a rich foreigner. As for all the idiots who turn up in Pattaya or Phuket  , it’s because they’ve heard of all the hookers, cannabis , bars and clubs, they come for the Thai reputation.
No point in them going to Malaysia or Bali is there.

Touche @Lacessit I have several friends from the colony. I couldn't resist and did a quick ChatGPT. BTW, my step-mom was a £10 Pom back in the 1960s. Australia has done well.

I have no issue with the the Anti-British Brigade on the Thai forums. Whilst I have a great many friends and acquaintances from the UK, US, Australia, Canada and Ireland. There are plenty of Brits that simply behave badly in Thailand and I do not wish to be associated with them. For now and for our Aussie friends....

Truth is that life in Australia nowadays is a far more attractive proposition than the UK. For many, if not most here, Thailand is even better.

Reasons for British Expulsions of Criminals to Australia

  1. Overcrowded Prisons in Britain

    • By the late 18th century, Britain faced a crisis of prison overcrowding due to rising crime, poverty, and harsh laws (many petty crimes were punishable by imprisonment).

    • Old ships known as “hulks” were being used as makeshift prisons on the Thames, but conditions were horrific.

  2. Loss of the American Colonies

    • Before the American Revolution (1775–1783), Britain sent many convicts to North America.

    • After independence, Britain needed a new destination for transporting criminals.

  3. Desire to Expand the Empire

    • Establishing a settlement in Australia helped Britain secure territory in the Pacific, especially with France showing interest in the region.

    • Convict transportation doubled as colonization.

  4. Belief in Rehabilitation Through Labor

    • Transportation was seen as a way to reform criminals by removing them from old environments and making them work productively in a new land.

    • It also acted as a deterrent for crime back in Britain.

Results of the Policy

  1. Establishment of Australia as a Colony

    • The First Fleet arrived in 1788 at Botany Bay (later Sydney).

    • Australia became both a penal colony and the foundation of a new British settlement.

  2. Harsh Conditions for Convicts

    • Many transported convicts endured brutal voyages, disease, forced labor, and strict discipline.

    • However, some were able to gain freedom, own land, and build new lives after serving their sentences.

  3. Dispossession of Indigenous Australians

    • The arrival of British settlers (including convicts) led to the dispossession, violence, and decline of Aboriginal populations due to disease, conflict, and loss of land.

  4. Economic Development

    • Convict labor built infrastructure—roads, buildings, farms, and ports—that laid the foundation for Australia’s economy.

    • Free settlers later followed, attracted by land and opportunity.

  5. End of Transportation

    • Transportation to New South Wales was officially abolished in 1840, though it continued in other colonies (like Western Australia) until 1868.

    • By then, Australia had begun shifting from a penal colony to a society of free settlers.

In summary: Britain transported criminals to Australia because of prison overcrowding, the loss of America as a destination, and a desire to expand empire. The result was the founding of modern Australia, major impacts on Indigenous peoples, and the transformation of a penal settlement into a prosperous colony.

Would you like me to make this into a short exam-style answer (bullet points, concise) or a longer essay-style explanation with more detail and examples?

Australians are a lot more cosmopolitan than people think. 33% claim English ancestry. Scots and Irish are about 9% each, so nearly 50% of us are not from the British Isles, either as convicts or as carpetbaggers.

We have a rich infusion of Greeks, Italians, Chinese and Vietnamese. Some Middle East groups.

Personally, my ancestry is Danish, French, and Scots.
