Always some... person... with an adorable story like this. No doubt Jacky crossed the street everyday without looking both ways. Probably smoked 3 packs a day. Never wore a life jacket in a boat or a helmet on a motorcycle. Maybe never brushed his teeth. Good old uncle Jacky, oh the stories... Jacky was no moron, yet his nephew ...

I walk 90 minutes every day and I sleep well. The best thing I ever did was to stop smoking just on 50 years ago, I even ran 3 marathons when I was 45. Good for you mate. I'm only 70 and I also drastically reduced my beer intake over the years. Now I have 3 large bottles of Chang most nights. Exceptions are Friday & Sunday where I have 5-6 on an afternoon with food instead of a night time drink. Giving up alcohol doesn't make you live any longer - it just feels like it.

August 19, 2025Aug 19 My father was a very light drinker, in fact most of the drinkers on here would call him a non drinker. He started showing signs of dementia at about 73 and died at 79. My mother was a light drinker, as in one bacardi coke after dinner some nights. She developed dementia around 75 and died at 85. I was a party animal from 15, drinking until I vomited at every chance, then as I got richer I moved onto the good stuff from Columbia and adopted Tequila as my drink of choice. Partied almost every night during my 30's and into my 40's. Moved to Thailand and stopped the marching powder, but still drank. Quit drinking 5 years 8 months ago at 53 years of age. A very good friend of mine just died here in Bangkok, he was 63 and had quit drinking 2.5 years ago. He didn't have dementia but then again he didn't get old enough to know if he might have later in life.
