Immigration will visit me to fact-checking visa extension

Today I went to Immigration Office to extend my Non-O visa and the nice office added me a new document to allowing officers visit to check if the visa documents are true.

 

When usually they come? Will they call me or will make me a surprise? Will they check wardrobe to confirm if I live with my wife?

First ever visit earlier this year.

 

Guy was almost apologetic. He was very polite, asked a few routine questions, we have a restaurant and bar....offered him food and drink, both declined.

 

All done within about 10/15 minutes.

Which immigration office? 

Some wish to see a witness. 

Was this the first 12 month extension. 

They would normally ring day prior. 

Might take a picture of you +wife in front of house # etc. 

Can enter your home.

This is my first time, too.

Did he come to your business, not your residence?

Did he call you before coming, or did he just show up?

My wife has to be present? should I let her take a day off?

Does condo's security guard counts as a witness?

No, it's not the first extension, but the first time they visit me.

House and business are all on the same plot.

 

It was a cold call, totally out of the blue.

 

Not sure what he would have done if one or both of us were not present?

 

I guess if we were both out he would just come back some other time or call first.........if one of us was away, not sure what he would do. I go back to the UK for two/three months each year!!!

Being CW they might not visit at all. 

Re security guard.... Thinking anyone that could vouch for you living at that address should suffice. 

Yes wife needs to be present.

I think you might be  mixed up. . 

 

That is a new form that they have us fill out and was posted elsewhere on this forum. 

 

 if you are in an extension based on retirement they won't visit and they only do marriage extension home visits once in a while especially if you've been on extensions a while. 

 

Did they say they would come or did they just have you sign the new form that they hand out to everyone now?

Exactly, it was this form. I never saw it before.
