'Blast-resistant'? Ha! No such thing exists for landmines. But the gullible will believe anything.

Are they buying from that bomb detector company again?

Yup, that's Thaksin in a nutshell.

And what have you and the other whiners and moaners donated?

Twice the square root of SFA?

People on here just can't help themselves! My question to the twisted: what have use done for the Thai soldiers on the border? I guess Nothing!!!

They yal and shout a lot as many keyboard warriors do, but to get them to actually DO something, never works.

Donated to whom? Thaksin?

Correct.

Who volunteered to show the effectiveness of the boots, someone in prison for Life?

yeah ..      care to demonstrate them ?

how about they use them with the  GT200 bomb dectectors The GT200, a device marketed as a bomb detector, was exposed as a scam. It consisted of little more than an empty box with an antenna, relying on the user's unconscious movements rather than any actual detection mechanism. Despite being sold to numerous countries, including Thailand, it was proven ineffective and potentially dangerous.

I still say ..  take the cambodian prisoners and have them walk up front to show a clear path ....

You want me to demonstrate a pair of blast resistant boots?

Would you show me how it works first?

What has fake bomb detectors to do with the boots in question?  Are you suggesting that the boots in question are fake and would not provide any protection from any or all landmines?

Correct.

Now why would Thaksin need 100 pairs of blast resistant boots?

If you had read the OP then you might have noticed that he donated them to the Army.

He did not need yo donate them. he was not forced to donate them.

What I do know is that if I were in the RTA I would be glad that somebody, anybody, cared enough to even think about the frontline troops.

I assume that he has/had his reasons for doing it. What those reasons are I have no idea and neither do you.

Unlike you, I don't have knee jerk reactions that always assume that someone has ulterior motives.

Let me think about that. His daughter has seriously and publicly maligned a Thai army chief while speaking with a foreign person who's army has subsequently killed some of the maligned army chief's soldiers. For her pains, she is facing censure and at minimum, permanently losing her position as leader of Thailand. So the doting father, who is very well aware through past experience that keeping the military onside is paramount to his daughter's freedom as well as continuing his charmed life here, of course he's going to make kissy face with the military.

Yes, everything Thaksin does it for the good of the people and the country. Absolutely EVERYTHING.

But I will accept that you have a different definition for "shameless huckster".
