There's a few checkered shirts in my wardrobe. I mostly wear polos.

My Thai GF can spend hours browsing in second-hand clothing stores, hunting for bargains to clothe me.

She has quite a good eye for the high-end fashion labels.

Why is it the checkered shirt is favored by so many old gits in Thailand? Are you one of them?

Speak up loudly and proudly.

You're not a real man if you don't wear a checkered shirt , I am a lumberjack  and I'm OK

I guess not not a real man .....and could you not find someone , something else to criticise

I haven't noticed many expats wearing checkered shirts myself but a variety of different designs. That some wear older styled clothes is just a part of their personal nostalgia. Not sure why you got attacked for this post, as they can always scroll by, it not being personal against them but just a question telling about your personal experience here.

I agree with you. At least a checkered shirt is more dressier and pleasing to the eye  than a  Chang wife beater singlet.  People wearing the Chang wife beater singlet  should be fined 500 Baht by the police for visual pollution.

I'm a big fan of African clothing. I saw a Nigerian guy at the checkout in KL and he was dressed so sharp he looked like a film star. I asked for his tailor. He gave the card to me.

Plaid is not checkered.

Legit question: Why do you  give a damn what other people are wearing?

So long as the person next to me doesn’t smell bad, I couldn’t care less what they are wearing.

Why are you so concerned about the way other people dress? You have too much time on your hands. Try getting a hobby or is your complaint your hobby?

Tesco F&F short-sleeve check shirts. 300 baht, cool cotton and comfortable to wear. Many styles, from houndstooth checks you can wear for more formal occasions to larger checks that go nicely with the eminently sensible choice in the tropics, cargo shorts. The really loud checks I leave to Thai farmers though.

NOOOOOO....shorts must reach the knees......they are embarrassing

You have just described my neighbor's daily attire.

All that is missing is a baseball cap on backwards

Don't care much about what people wear but the backwards ball cap is an affectation.

Mark of a dope in my opinion.

I'm quite sure you guys look awesome in your checkered shirts. A reading glass holder and a few pens in the pocket should finish the outfit quite nicely.

Have never worn one so I wouldnt know but obviously you have a very deep interest in them. Ever though of writing a book on them? Could be a best seller.
