Try to get another extension but without agent after having done the first one with agent and out of province. You'll be told to leave the country and apply for a new visa.

Why do you assume these "riff raffs" are only living on 20-40k baht a month? I assume you know the financial requirements are much higher than that, 65k and 800k, and a lot of foreigners may be just under that threshold, and will use an agent to be able to live full time in Thailand.

 

Foreigners spending 50-65k a month in Thailand, or even a lot more, just choosing to not keep 800k in a bank, are contributing a lot to the Thai society. They might even buy a condo, a car or a motorbike.

Your post makes no sense to me.

This is from the Thai Immigration Act. So long as you didn't pay more than 2000 baht as at (3) for your Extension of stay as per regulations specified and 'discretion' exercised by the competent official in Section 35, it is legal.

I know that very well. However, they do select a few every year. Next time it might be that person that feels safe and laugh about it that they make an example out of just for show. Still, it will hurt same much.

On this and similar topics persons often write that nothing will change because it is too lucrative and there is too much money in it.

 

Which is why, if anything is to change, it will likely come from the Revenue Department, not internal to the RTP
