Fun facts to add

About 88 percent of our energy exports go to USA.

About 96 percent of our oil is exported to USA.

Gosh.  If only they hadn't been fighting for years not to build pipelines to the east and west coasts, they may be able to get beyond the USA market in the next 20 years.  They do have a new pipeline to export more on the west coast, Until recently, all of that oil went to the USA, too.  Now, some of it goes to China.   For which I actually salute Canada.  It's good to diversify.  But it's not going to fix their problems.  And I doubt the East Coast Canucks will ever tolerate a pipeline that would serve Germany a significant amount.  I hope they prove me wrong.

Another fun fact...  Ther USA is a net exporter of oil and gas.  We (the USA) export more than we import.  But we do refine it and compress it and make money on those upgrades.

Yes you refine it and sell us the gasoline back.

Maybe Canada should build a refinery.

As one of the top reserve countries on the planet you would think so eh.

We do have a few but with the amount of oil we have its simply lacking.

Wow, it's not only Trump that's regressing mentally I see.

The German economy is experiencing a “structural crisis” rather than just temporary “weakness,” Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said, admitting that steering the country’s economy back on track has proven harder than he had anticipated.

Is Merz regressing mentally, too?

So we agree that the German economy is not a "basket case" then.

You are a yesterday man, that's all. There is no continuity any more in trade relations. So whatever was in the past is irrelevant for the future.

It's not?

Large parts of the country’s economy “are no longer truly competitive,” the chancellor acknowledged. Merz mentioned the plummeting earnings by Volkswagen, which experienced a massive 36% after-tax slump in the second quarter of the year, calling it just “one of many messages” about the state of the country’s economy.

“By this week at the latest, no one should be under any illusions about how deep and far-reaching the challenges that face us are,” Merz stated.

Well, at least Merz knows what he's talking about. He doesen't shout "tariffs".

European countries have prooved that they can handle ecomic problems. The US just blows up it's debt, again now with the big ugly bill.

I'd bet dollars to donut holes that you (or anyone else on AN) can't detail 10% of what's in the bill.  You're just parroting the MSM.  Who are well known for their objective reporting on all things Trump, right?

Edit:  I'd add that with Germany's huge trade surplus, tariffs probably aren't as viable a solution as they would be for the USA with our huge trade deficit.

You focus what's about the bill.

US economy is going DOWN.

btw

The "Big Beautiful Bill" is President Trump's comprehensive US tax and spending bill, which, among other things, provides for the permanent extension of the TCJA tax cuts. Other provisions include new tax breaks for tips and overtime, a significant expansion of spending on defense and border protection, and massive cuts to climate and social services such as Medicaid. Critics see this as a massive increase in national debt, which could cost millions of people access to health insurance and slow the energy transition.

That would be BRICS.

Sorry, the "C" is already taken.

You could try "H".

What energy transition? Fossil fuels are government policy. Renewable support has been put in a round file.
