A trans woman who was caught smuggling 26kg of cannabis into the UK in order to fund a sex change operation has been sentenced to 18 months behind bars in a men's prison.

 

Keira Borrett, 46, from Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk, was discovered with two suitcases full of the Class B drug when stopped by Border Force officials at London Heathrow Airport on May 23.

 

Borrett, who was born a male but identifies as a woman, had been returning to the UK from Bangkok in Thailand - where Isleworth Crown Court heard the smuggler made a deal to transport the drugs in exchange for £10,000 transitional surgery.

 

Prosecutor Sahra Ali said police had been told how Borrett had bumped into a man from Essex in a Bangkok bar, where the conversation turned to how expensive said surgery had become.

 

After being introduced to accomplices of the Essex man, Borrett received a drop-off by two men in an SUV which contained two 'very heavy' bags, which were then checked in as luggage under Borrett's name.

 

Borrett was instructed to take these bags to a hotel once touching down in the UK and was informed a payment of £10,000 would be sent for doing so - in turn funding the surgery.

 

However, Borrett's attempts were thwarted when the airport luggage check revealed that the two suitcases were stuffed with vacuum-sealed cannabis parcels which had a total value of around £800,000, prompting the smuggler's arrest. Borrett pleaded guilty to smuggling the Class B drug at an earlier hearing. 

what`s up with those low prison times for smuggling drugs. 

 

i need a calculator if this is worth the risk, worst case : 18 months in prison, meh ,itś more like a long holiday. not a nice one , though.

The difference in appearance between western trans and Thai trans is astonishing.

The circumstances of the crime determine the  sentence. Incarcerating a non violent offender like this  may have been determined to serve little purpose other than force taxpayers to pay for her detention and medical care including gender change.

 

Why the drug traffickers thought he was the ideal candidate to move their stash is truly an ace move of criminal genius. I mean, right there on page one of the Drug Traffickers Handbook for Dummies, it clearly states: "WARNING, do not, under any circumstances, use a cock in a frock wearing a blond wig as your mule."
 

Bro, It's not rocket science and it doesn't take an Einstein IQ. You simply want the kind of person moving your kit who looks like they have never broken a rule in their entire life, the human equivalent of a generic beige cardigan, gliding through customs with a suitcase full of sunshine and smiles.

The saddest part is that he admitted he was doing it to pay for a sex change. Think about how messed up that is. He risked his liberty over identity issues and now he is spending 18 months in prison merely because he wanted to get his cock cut off. Those are some tragic priorities.

 

And transsexuals wearing blonde wigs don’t exactly scream “stealth drug mule.” So not the smartest vocation for this guy. But the reality is it's all probably bigger than just this one guy. These operations work on numbers. If the organized crime group expects to make 100 times their investment, they send multiple mules at once. Even if a few get caught, enough will usually get through to make it worthwhile. For all we know, this guy might have even been chosen as a distraction while others on the same flight wearing khaki docker pants and looking vanilla slipped by unnoticed.

 

In the end, it’s more tragic for the mule than for the criminals pulling the strings when the mule gets caught. The operators don’t lose much. The mules are the ones with desperate stories who pay the big price. This guy’s desperation to get penile inversion surgery says a lot. He probably needs psychological help more than a prison sentence. Instead, he’ll likely get chewed up in the slammer and come out even worse after serving his time.
