A dramatic rescue unfolded after a man accidentally fell into a 15-metre-deep sewage shaft and was unable to climb out. Emergency responders had to use rope rescue, pulley system to bring him to safety.

At 20:59 on 30 August, the Rama Radio Centre received an emergency call from the Bang Khun Non Fire and Rescue Station reporting an incident involving a man trapped in a shaft, in Soi Suan Phak 10, Suan Phak Road, Taling Chan, Bangkok. Firefighters and rescue personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The site was a large concrete sewage shaft, approximately three metres in diameter and 15 metres deep. Rescuers found a man sitting at the bottom of the shaft. He was conscious but apparently injured and unable to climb out on his own.

Rescue teams from Ruamkatanyu Foundation carefully descended the shaft using ropes and a rescue stretcher to secure the man. He was then safely lifted to the surface using a pulley system and promptly transported to Siriraj Hospital.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

That is truly being in "deep doo doo".

The cause? how about lack of barrier around opening, or any warning signs. I'm puttin my money on that guess
