Thaksin has no shame. Well we already knew that power is everything to him. He still wants to be, am I allowed to say it, king. That is why so many of the middle/older generations do not like him.

  • Prayut let's go.

The People’s Party has announced its support for Anutin Charnvirakul to become the 32nd Prime Minister of Thailand. The decision comes with specific conditions, including the dissolution of parliament and constitutional amendments. Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, a prominent figure in the party, made the announcement earlier today.

10 years ago, I would never have believed I would one day look back at Prayut's reign as 'the good old days.'

But after the chaos of the last few years, I do!

Bring back the General and his watch-loving buddy...all is forgiven. Happy days may soon be here again!

Pathetic, utterly pathetic.

The Indonesian people are showing, this very week, how to deal with a corrupt  government.

If only the Thai people had such collective strong cojones...

This is politic and politic is always dirty... look around the world..

Thaksin trying to save his brand by paying patronage to the military old guard. To the establishment and old guard that really run Thailand. It's pitiful that the next PM comes down to Anutin and Prayut. Thailand will never move on if they keep reaching into the past for new leadership and ideas.

7. You will not post defamatory or libelous comments. Defamation is the issuance of a statement about another person or business which causes that person or business to suffer harm or loss. A statement does not have to be false to be defamatory. Libel is when the defamatory statement is published either as a drawing, picture, painting, motion picture, film, or letters made visible by any means or by broadcasting, dissemination or propagation by any other means. Defamation is both a civil and criminal charge in Thailand and elsewhere in ASEAN.

This is a guy who said he just wants to come back so he can go swimming with his grandchildren this is the guy that left you landed here after partying in Cambodia for the night before all of a sudden gets so ill that he has to spend six months in the VIP room of a hospital And no expensive his own this is the guy who I said wasn’t gonna get back in politics and now he’s trying to Put in a Prime Minister after the one he put in prior his daughter got kicked out what are the Thai people thinking this guy left the country for many years he stole a fortune literally a fortune instead of just laying back and being grateful that he’s back without ever having to spend the night in jail you think he’d be happy with just that no he still has to be the power broker TIT

I don't agree. Older people will remember all of Thaksin's benefits

Meh...if our Yai is any sort of political barometer for the older folks, the gild has completely gone off that lily.

Biggest threat to democracy in thailand, still living with his  House of Representatives mess, people voted for change and the house basically circumvented the peoples will and an election might as well have never been held.

So, Pheu Thai becomes the opposition... unless the EC rules in favour of party dissolution on the grounds that they were complicit in Ung-ing's failed attempts at "diplomacy" with Hun Sen.

There is absolutely no excuse for abusive behavior.

and that's a wrap on the Taksin dynasty

i don't think we need to give him any more press time- it's over you lost. The last thing the country needs is his meddling...

what possible use has this country for a thinly veiled military party -  proof again if any was needed- this man does not have your interests at heart....just control , manipulation and profit.

military govts are bad for business .There's no debate on that.

why is a so called successful businessman trying to get into bed with the military? it goes against everthing he stands for - unless it's for himself.

...A Pathetic 'Last-Ditch Effort' To Save His Skin... (?)

The convicted criminal should have absolutely no say in Thai Politics I would go as far as saying that his party should be dissolved by the courts . Go back to Dubai with the rest of the Shin Clan and enjoy what few years you have left !

Indonesians this week are rioting regarding the incredible corruption of the country's parliamentarians.

A very small number of Indonesians. There are nearly 300 million of them and many on islands far from Java where there are no protests whatsoever.

I personally wouldn’t hold up Indonesians as an example of people power versus corruption. The country as a whole is possibly even more corrupt than Thailand. And that is saying something.

Thailand was at its happiest and most stable in decades when Thaksin was in power...A true leader for the Thais

Thaksin was nearer the end of his reign as PM when I first came to Thailand. I have no idea of what he was like as the PM, but there is one thing. Thailand was much better for farangs twenty years ago than it is now, and by a long way.

In saying that, I understand that Thaksin wants Prayut back as PM?? That is about the worst thing that could happen to us farangs.

You might want to check your information, which is somewhat lacking in accuracy.

Google "BBC report Indonesian riots" and you may be enlightened.

The Thai people are realising the damage the most devisive family in Thailand have caused to the country through Thaksin's self promotion.

Hopefully, but as we all know, they are easily swayed, and there are miles to go before there will be light at the end of sour system he created.

After nine years as prime minister

FALSE

The Constitutional Court said Prayut only served four years as PM. That allowed him to run again after nine years as PM as the Constitution only allowed 8 years in whole or aggregate as PM. But his party did not achieve House majority.
