Mitsubishi water pump run but no water.

Featured Replies

We don't use it that much because we have town water, and maybe that's the problem. Today no town water so turned on the pump, which runs but no water coming out. In the past I'd open the plug on the tank and let the water drain and then restart the pump, but today no luck. There's plenty of water in the underground tank the pump draws from, so that's not the problem.

Could pipe be blocked? we had hardly any water but the meter was turning all the time, pipe broken due to the ever moving earth level. We also get a lot of green stuff coming through the main pipe now and then which blocks sometimes. We got the water company round who were here all day digging up and fixing, paid as not in the street problem

Have you primed the pump through the top access cover?

Unplug it and wait a couple hours and try again.

If that does not work call mitsu support.

It's possible, but the pump only sucks water from the tank which is kept covered.

Yes, but the water runs straight into the tank. There are actually two access covers.

They shut down when they get hot. How long has it been?

It wasn't pumping water from the time it was turned, so it never got hot.

Local chit - chat or local pump outlet.

Next possibility is the little flapper/one way valve at the end of the sucker pipe in the tank.

I guess that's going to involve someone getting into the tank, becausevthat valve is probably at the bottom of the tank.

Just ask at the local taxi motorcycle taxi station.

Filled it manually because it's not sucking water.

No need, disconnect the inlet pipe at the pump and lift the pipe out of the tank. Clean or unscrew and replace check valve

No can do. The pipe that feeds the pump from the tank runs underground so no access.

Cut it close to the tank, pull the pipe, fix the valve, use a pipe connector to join it up again.

The pipe is totally hidden,it's not even visible as to where if feeds into the tank. Have some Thai guy coming tomorrow who apparently knows what he's doing. I'm too old to be messing with it, unless it's something simple.

Any idea what that small black cable does, is it part of the pressure switch? Anyway it appears to be leaking.

Sorry mate, none of my pumps have that. Looks like a vacuum line, have you tried to undo the unions? Easy enough to put a bit of plumbers tape on each male union.

Just had a look on Lazada it's called an air compressor line, so if the air is under pressure plumbers tape won't fix it. Replacements are cheap enough, only 75 baht. BTW the pump is a Mitsu WP250.

Stupid question but is the pump actually turning or is it just sitting there humming away to itself.

It is just possible that the rotor is stuck after lack of use.

If this is the case then a screwdriver will start it.

There should be access to a slot in the back end of the motor shaft for that purpose.
