The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is preparing to instruct its legal team to file a complaint with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) against individuals and officials allegedly involved in the illegal occupation of land at Khao Kradong in Buriram province.

The case relates to complaints concerning the possession and issuance of land titles in the area, which may belong to the state and involve multiple parties. The DSI, under the direction of Director-General Pol. Col. Yuththana Praedam, has tasked Pol. Lt. Col. Natthapon Disayatham, Director of the Natural Resources and Environment Investigation Division, to investigate the matter as case 97/2568.

The investigation involves collecting witness statements, examining evidence and coordinating with relevant agencies including the Department of Lands, Buriram Provincial Land Office, SRT Lam Plai Mat Railway Division, the Treasury Office of Buriram, and the provincial Damrongtham centre.

According to reports, the SRT’s legal team will formally submit the complaint on Thursday, 4 September, at 14:00, requesting the DSI to investigate under the Special Case Investigation Act B.E. 2547 (and subsequent amendments) as well as related legislation. The complaint alleges that certain individuals, in cooperation with SRT staff and other state officials, illegally occupied SRT land in Khao Kradong, spanning Sa Met and Isan subdistricts of Mueang Buriram district.

The DSI confirmed that, following the SRT’s submission, Pol. Lt. Col. Natthapon Disayatham will personally receive the documents and proceed to interview the complainants. The evidence will then be reviewed to determine whether it qualifies as a special case. If so, it will be formally registered as such and legal action against the involved parties will follow.
