An elderly woman in Nonthaburi was left terrified after a group of seven armed men, later identified as police officers, allegedly entered her home in the middle of the night without a search warrant.

The incident occurred on 2 September at a residence in Soi Rewadee, Talad Khwan Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District. The victim, Mrs Noi, aged 89, reportedly faced the intrusion by men carrying both rifles and handguns, causing significant distress.

It was subsequently confirmed that the men were members of the investigative unit from Bang Sri Muang Police Station. Following the event, Mrs Noi’s daughter, who works overseas, reviewed CCTV footage from the house and advised her mother and younger sister to file a formal complaint with the authorities.

On 5 September at 16:00, the family, including the daughter identified only as Ms Som, visited Mueang Nonthaburi Police Station to follow up on the investigation. At the same time, Police Colonel Somchai Jangtham, Chief of Bang Sri Muang Police Station, brought the seven officers, comprising one Captain, two Sergeants, three Police Lieutenants and one Police Volunteer, along with a fruit basket, in an attempt to mediate with the family.

However, the family declined to enter negotiations, stating that they would discuss the matter privately before making any decisions. A formal police report was filed as a record of the incident, and no further mediation meeting has yet been scheduled.

Authorities have indicated that the officers’ actions may constitute three criminal offences: burglary of a residence at night by two or more armed individuals, destruction of property and misconduct in office.Investigators are currently gathering witness statements and other evidence as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.

7 armed police officers, one 89 year old lady.

And it is typically for "officer's own safety", they will claim.

They can not claim this because they had no warrant to enter the home. They should not have been there in the first place.

What were the cops "investigating" when they broke in?

We should be told .....

three criminal offenses should be worth more than one measly fruit basket.

No, it's the US police tyrants that usually claim that.
