Summary:
In a large-scale demonstration in London, over 425 people were arrested protesting the government’s ban on Palestine Action. The rally, organized by Defend Our Juries in Parliament Square, saw hundreds of participants opposing the group’s proscription under the Terrorism Act, which penalizes membership with up to 14 years in prison.

The Metropolitan Police reported most arrests were for supporting the banned group, while additional arrests were for assaults on officers and public disorder. The demonstration featured placards displaying messages like "I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action," drawing an estimated 1,500 supporters.

Tensions escalated with reports of abusive conduct towards officers, leading to an increased police presence, including City of London officers. Protesters were instructed to go "floppy" to complicate arrest efforts, each interaction greeted with chants against the police.

Amnesty International criticized the arrests as a shocking misuse of terrorism laws, while demonstrators from diverse age groups and backgrounds expressed their defiance. Notable attendees included veteran environmental campaigner Sir Jonathon Porritt, opposing the government’s stance on Gaza.

The protest follows a previous demonstration with over 500 arrests. As legal challenges against the ban continue, the Home Office is seeking to reinforce its proscription of Palestine Action, sparking debate on free speech and terrorism legislation.

Key Takeaways:

  • Mass Arrests: 425+ arrested for supporting Palestine Action, banned under terror laws.
  • Rising Tensions: Demonstration led to clashes with police, highlighting freedom of speech issues.
  • Ongoing Legal Battles: Palestine Action continues to challenge its ban, supported by public protests.

What will it take for Britbongs to realize their slavery?

That 425 has now risen to almost 900

Quote

Authorities in London have arrested nearly 900 people during a protest in support of the banned group Palestine Action, police say.

The new tally, announced on Sunday, highlights the strict approach that police have taken against the demonstrators, who organisers insisted were nonviolent.

Correction,

The demonstrating Edinburgh resulted in just 3 arrests of old folk.

“Police said two men - aged 67 and 82 - had been charged in connection with the Terrorism Act and a 63-year-old man charged in connection with a hate crime. “

And they'll all get the wet bus ticket across the wrist treatment for their crimes.

This is merely a PR stunt by the British Stasi constabulary at the behest of Reichsmarschall Starmer to appease the revolting proletariat so that when they arrest 3,000 patriots at Tommy's free speech rally on September 13th, it won't look so bad. :coffee1:

So they're not even protesting in support of PA.

They're protesting against what they see as an overreach by the gub'ment, possibly because they're afraid that they'll be next.

I highly commend the courage and civic responsibility shown by everyone who participated in the London demonstration, standing up peacefully for what they believe in despite the risk of arrest. It takes remarkable bravery to voice dissent and challenge laws that you feel unjust, and such actions are a reminder of the vital role of public protest in a democratic society.

At the same time, we must also remember those who have been silenced online for speaking out against Israeli war crimes. Social media bans and censorship serve as reminders that standing up for justice often comes with personal cost. I honor the resilience of these individuals and urge continued solidarity with those advocating for human rights, wherever they are.

You support a group that renders the UKs air defences as being ineffective ?

The figures mentioned don't include the 450+ arrested previously. Anyone heard what has been done with those demonstrators?

GB News from April 9 of this year:

Police are arresting over 30 individuals daily for posting offensive content on social media and other online platforms, it has been revealed.

Sadly, the article is behind a paywall.

Are YOU next? Four cases of Britons investigated for 'offensive speech' as police make 30 arrests a day

You may question their analysis of why it's happening, or whether it's a good thing.  But that doesn't mean it's not happening.  30 a day is about 11,000 arrests a year.  For online posts.  That's downright Orwellian.

No such thing as Israeli war crimes it's called retaliation. Good luck to Netanyahu and his military. By the way I'm not a Jew,

What about all the fuss about being a democracy, allowing free political speech ?

Who is in charge at the end of the day ? Is the the democratically elected political UK bodies or is it Israel who rules in the UK ?

free speech doesn't allow people to support illegal activity .

The UK Gov designated the group to be a  terrorist group due to their actions  , nothing to do with Israel

I'm pretty sure we'll never know.

But here's the gov.UK criteria for "hate crime":

UKHateCrime.jpg.913a58ac9fd6eeaa443554934c51852a.jpg

So I'd bet that some of the 11,000 annual arrests are for online comments aimed at Israel and/or Israelis, or just Jews.

I especially like that part about "perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated..."  That should scare the crap out of anyone with a snowflake or a Karen in their city.  They think everything is motivated by hostility or prejudice.  If you read the rest of that gov.UK page, you'll see that they have a mechanism for the Karens to rat you out.

Ok thank you. I was unaware that the Genocide in Gaza has nothing to do with Israel.

   That is  different subject .

We are talking about a group being banned in the UK for their actions in the UK .

The genocide in Gaza is  different topic

The <deleted> will all be dressed in full riot gear for next Saturdays Tommy's march where there is bound to be hundreds if not thousands of arrests 🤔
