Visa Agent Required

Featured Replies

I am looking for a reliable Visa Agent in Bangkok who can do a Retirement Non O and provide the 800k guarantee.

At present I provide my own 800k, but calculate I would be better depositing it in a UK bank where it would earn more interest than the Visa Agent would charge.

Thanks to all for replies.

Interest at a UK bank?? Hahaha.

  • Elite Concierge https://www.facebook.com/EliteConciergeThailand or AS Services https://www.facebook.com/aservicesthb   Both can do Chaengwattana stamps.

  • Indeed. The OP referred to loss of alternative to 800k in a Thai Bank. (Opportunity Cost).  That in itself makes little sense.    Interest rate in FD a/c held in a Thai Bank v UK bank m

While that is correct, it's only one thing to consider.

BTW: Surely there would much better options than a UK bank.

The link to the agent I posted earlier is the most used agent in Bangkok.

That post includes their prices.

You do not need a Non O as you are currently on extensions.

Best to do own research regarding other options.

When dealing with an agent be clear in understanding where the stamps are issued. Bangkok or elsewhere..

Better bank options? I am all ears if you have suggestions?

So if one is in say Phuket, does it matter if the agent does the extension in Bangkok?

The agent  I posted based in Bangkok deals with Phuket and CM etc.

You are best advised to discuss with agent directly.

Regards the. Opportunity cost of the 800k in low interest Thai bank....

Yes not nice

As for better options...in Oz we are lucky. Many have superannuation fund.

Over the course of MANY years including financial crisis etc the average return is north of 8%

But up country or in the south

Interest rate in FD a/c held in a Thai Bank v UK bank might be say 20k baht better off. However minus the cost of the agent etc it's very much penny wise pound foolish.

OP should stick to doing it himself or change to income method.

Being UK at a guess receives a pension. Just switch to income method and basically zero funds in the Thai Bank account. Win win.

UK pension is inadequate for Thai Visa requirements. Thai bank pays very low interest to foreigners.

Great. Go and do the sums and post the amount of money you think you will save by having the 800k in a UK Bank account vs Thai and adjust for cost of agent.

I don't believe it's sound reasoning.

You mentioned UK Bank. Not me.

As mentioned the 800k in my Oz super fund then different animal to a UK bank

What a shame your not on Koh Chang, I here immigration there will do it for 23,000+ baht.

I wish you would expand on this as I thought to renew visa's from Koh Chang you had to go to the immigration office in Laem Ngop on the mainland.

Also a pretty strong claim that you can bribe the immigration office on Koh Chang. Please do get back to us.

The funds do not have to come from a pension.

So your saying a UK pension funds does not provide 65k /month?

What amount is a typical UK pension.

Us Roadrunners are bird brained but can do sums, and yes it adds up to a saving of 8000 Baht plus I don't have to do the Visa myself

No Koh Chang immigration office are on the take, I wrote a post about this a couple of weeks ago, when I reported them to 1178 and got a intimidating visit for reporting them on their 100b "Fee" for a 90day report also they want 2300b for a new extension I Quote" if you don't like it take the ferry to trat and we have air conditioning"... Laem Ngop are very nice and helpful, no extra fees wanted or asked for.

Geez. How does some live on 40k.

No other income such as rents etc?

They claim pension credits as a benefit.  Claiming any benefits while living in Thailand, including this one, is illegal. The government started to interrogate UK bank accounts of benefit claimants in order to catch just this kind of fraud. I even knew of an acquaintance who was claiming not only pension credits, but also a housing benefit, while living in Thailand.  He was caught fined and given a suspended prison sentence.

I loved it when they paid £500 winter fuel allowance whilst we were basking in the sun here. Rachel Reeves killed it. Time we got Labour out.

I opted out of the WFA when I moved here.  It seemed the right thing to do.

Winter Fuel Allowance has been reinstated.

Qualifying period sometime this month.

Payments will resume early December.

Didn't know we had to qualify. I got mine automatically added to my pension.

There  has always been a so-called qualifying period which takes place in September.

It is an automated process , that checks your resident status.

You do not receive any forms or contact unless there is a problem.

I am not too sure exactly what the process is , but probably something like a check of the voters roll for example.

If nothing has changed in your circumstances , since you last received the Winter Fuel Allowance , then I expect you will receive the payment early December.

To foreigners? I get the same as everyone else from Kasikorn.
