Well, the evidence of the bullets with the ANTIFA and LGBT messages gives you all the info you need about his motivation.

No one here has any more evidence than anyone else. Guesses are just that. Again, there are two reasons he left ammo like that. If he didn't want them found, he would have brought just the one, or maybe two, bullets with him, unmarked.

 

If he was trying to prove a point, that there was hate against LGBT, he left that with the gun. Why did he leave them with the gun? To either show the shooter hated that thinking, or this is what he was paid to do, as money overrides most anything.

 

Why would he wear a shirt like that, knowing he might be seen? Why didn't he just leave the gun on the roof, no serial numbers, and used gloves, as any 12 year old would understand to do, but take it with him? Did he think he could make it back to his car, or house, with the gun unseen?

 

Is he just a rank  amateur that just got lucky in the shot, or was he hired because they knew he could shoot a killing shot? No one knows and can only guess. He also might be older than we think he is. And yes, he can just be a nut that hated Kirk for his own weird reasons. People who talk have died many times over the years, killed by extremists or mentally ill.

They were found in the weapon that was discarded by the escaping killer, according to the FBI. so it is not unreasonable to presume that the person who loaded the gun was responsible for their being found where they were.
