On 9 September, a Myanmar national working as a garbage collector died after his head was crushed by a hydraulic compactor on a truck in front of a dormitory in Moo 1, Tasit Subdistrict, Pluak Daeng District, Rayong Province. The incident occurred in the evening while the worker was levelling waste at the rear of a 10-wheel garbage truck. Emergency responders confirmed the worker was killed on the scene.

Two green garbage trucks were involved: a 10-wheel and a 6-wheel vehicle, which had their rear sections positioned together for waste transfer. According to initial reports, the worker was trapped while the hydraulic compactor was operating, and he could not move out of the mechanism in time. The impact caused a fatal skull fracture.

Police from Pluak Daeng Station attended the scene along with local rescue personnel. Authorities noted that the trucks were transferring waste between vehicles when the incident occurred. Investigators are focusing on how the worker became trapped and the operational status of the hydraulic system at the time.

Police summoned the drivers of both trucks for questioning to establish the exact circumstances of the incident. Legal action for negligence may follow once the investigation is complete. Authorities aim to prevent similar incidents by reinforcing safety procedures for municipal waste operations.
