An American man was injured in the early hours of 13 September after his motorcycle crashed into a streetlight pole on Thappraya Road, Pattaya. The incident occurred at 03.35 when rescue services from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation received a report of the crash. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi.

At the site, a Yamaha MT-15 motorcycle in red and black, with registration from Bangkok, was found lying in the outside lane of the road after striking a streetlight on the central divider. Nearby was the rider, identified as Mr. Young Eric Dawan, 42, a US national. He sustained injuries including a wound above his left eye and abrasions across his body.

Rescue volunteers provided first aid before transferring him to a hospital for further treatment. A witness, Mr. Boonchin Onthawon, 45, a volunteer rescuer identified as call sign 5118, reported seeing the man riding from the rear of a school towards Thappraya Road. According to his account, the motorcyclist lost control, mounted the central divider and crashed into the light pole.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Preliminary findings indicate no other vehicles were directly involved. The incident adds to ongoing concerns about road safety in Pattaya, an area where traffic crashes are frequent, particularly during late-night hours.

Wound above left eye and abrasions....

Why is he and his bike lying in the middle of the road?

Looking for sympathy, get him off the road, give him a kiss, send him on his way.
