Personal weighing scales

Featured Replies

Can anyone suggest a good, ACCURATE make of scales. Bought one set at Lotus earlier in the week which gave 3 different readings 15 minutes apart. Ordered some 'Panasonic' ones from Shopada. They had stickers with the name on both the unit and the box. Reasonably accurate, but I do like being fooled.

The wife picked one up at mr diy a couple years ago and it seems to be functioning well…

I bought this one a few years ago. It sends its information directly to your phone, so no problem seeing the numbers. Plus, it's one of the 'whole body' reading styles so there is a lot of information to be gained.
My wife and I both track our data weekly, and have for the past 6+ years. This scale is accurate enough for our needs.  https://tinyurl.com/3mt45ts5image.png.3d2160f4182b999c44405fb534d5f46e.png

I have an Inotech B670 smart scale, measures weight, internal bodyfat, BMI, water, proteins, bone density and a few others, sends data to Android phone, but Apple canx’d the company’s app, I am looking for something that works with the smart scale and Apple as well.   Been using it for 6 years.

We are currently using a brand called "Shaper" and they seem pretty good. Powered by a single CR2032 coin cell.

Got them from Lazada.

That's the one I returned to Lotus as it gave varying readings consecutively. Bht 399 refunded.

Then ordered some 'Panasonic' on Shopee. They are being collected to return today. Fake, brand name is a sticker on the unit and the box.

Looks good, but there are so many on Lazada ranging from 150 to 350kg, and prices from 672 to 1370 for what is pictured as the same thing. OK, Shopee next!

Looks good. Where from please, what make?

How accurate so you need to be? Your weight will vary by a kilo or more across a day.

The key is standing in the same place on the scale each time.

Just a thought about scales giving different readings - make sure the scale is placed on one floor tile, and doesn't cross the grout line. Mine can vary by 0.2 kilo if not on one tile.

As a habit, I always use the same bathroom tile - and I still hate the number that comes up.

Of course it will vary, after a meal, toilet etc. But these varied within minutes, both for me and the Mrs.

There are 'footprints' on most of them as they say they can measure various other parameters. Really?

I suggest you get your tiles re-grouted if they are interfering with your scales ie moving.

Lazada   https://tinyurl.com/3mt45ts5

We only weigh in once a week on Saturday mornings, and always first thing in the morning before breakfast. We generally eat a light meal Friday night as we are usually too busy for a multi-course dinner. I've charted my weight over the past 6+ years, and am happy with the results from this scale.

Golly, so many variables for a simple set of scales. I had no idea there were so many things that could go wrong. Even batteries! I don't think I've checked the batteries in my scales for the whole 10 years or so I've had them. Is that why I have to put on my distance glasses to read the output?

We aren't talking about the same scales. You bought the cheap 399 baht ones and not the 600 baht ones that I was talking about.

Mine were exactly the same model.

See my reply to Charlie's suggestion, same scales on Lazada/Shopee at greatly varying prices for the same thing, as with most stuff on there.

Did you buy them from the same seller? Probably not, hence the price difference. Are you aware that fake goods are sold on Lazada/Shoppee?

No, I bought mine in Lotus, and got my cash back two days later.

How do I know which seller you got your from?

So, not the same then, but similar?

Please MODS, close this now, thanks

Stores in Thailand are well known for re-selling returned goods as brand new.

That's probably what you bought. 5555

No, they were brand new in a pile in Lotus, had to activate the battery. But, yes, they DO resell returned items, usually at discount though. It usually says second hand (or foot) available.

They were discounted. You got them for 399 instead of 600 baht.
