Myanmar Woman Fatally Stabbed Outside Rented Room in Lopburi

A 29-year-old Myanmar woman was fatally stabbed outside her rented room in Phatthana Nikhom district, Lopburi province, late on 13 September. Police reported that the victim, identified as Ms Sinme, was attacked in front of her single-storey rental unit near a chicken processing factory. She died at the scene from multiple stab wounds to the chest and left arm.

Officials from Phatthana Nikhom Police Station, including investigator Pol Lt Col Peerawat Kamkrasin and local forensic teams attended the scene alongside volunteers from Ruamkatanyu Foundation. The body was found lying across a chair with blood covering the floor and a blood-stained mobile phone was located on a shoe rack nearby.

Neighbours reported that the assailant, a friend of the victim’s boyfriend, came to the room asking about the boyfriend. When Ms Sinme refused to provide information, an argument ensued at the doorway. The man then used a knife to stab her before fleeing the scene.

Police secured the area and collected evidence for forensic analysis, neighbours had moved the victim’s body onto a bamboo chair. The incident has caused shock among residents in the area, highlighting tensions in disputes involving local migrant communities.

Authorities are actively seeking the suspect, who remains at large. Police confirmed that further investigation and legal proceedings will follow once the individual is apprehended. The case is under continuous monitoring by Phatthana Nikhom law enforcement.
