Other banks than Bangkok Bank or Kasikorn, your experience?

Featured Replies

I am long time customer of Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn.

Bangkok Bank has become a nuisance.
My upcountry branch is particularly incompetent.

Kasikorn would be the obvious alternative.

For Kasikorn I am concerned they might shut down the local branch after they cut heavily into their network.

I am tempted to try opening an account at another bank for immigration purposes.

What bank do you use for that?

All services at any branch?

One year statements on the spot?
Issue "bank letter" confirming your account type and balance?

Internet banking easy to get?

Concerned Rightly so.

Kasikorn just shut branch at CW and my local branch at Pra Ram 9.

I would stick with Kasikorn in your shoes.

If local bank closes then consider alternative then.

Kasikorn same as BBL are partner with WISE.

Current topic on AseanNow is SBC closing branches with planed closures and staff cuts quite significant.

Other banks will follow.

Immigration should adjust their requirements. Zero chance of that.

All banks are cutting branches, the west have been doing it for many years, have a minimum of 3 bank accounts, i prefer Kasikorn for day to day, Krungsri for retirement, BB as backup

Krungsri for retirement

So you have good experience with Krungsri?

I think Kasikorn Bank is still the best alternative to Bangkok Bank, all things considered.

I almost never need to visit a branch and all banks are in the process of reducing the number of branches, so that in itself wouldn't deter me from using Kasikorn Bank.

If I had to choose a bank other than those two, it would be Krungsri.

Yes, it's easy though, leave the 800k+ there, retirement letters easy, better interest rate than other banks for instant access at the time, worth rechecking that
