Android TV box with Google tv.

Featured Replies

I want to get a new upto date android TV box looking at the HK1 rbox, I use it mainly to download TV shows, movies with tTorrent and play back with mxplayer. Most of the latest boxes now run on Android TV or Google tv using the Google play TV version which will not download tTorrent, is there anyway to download tTorrent.

Any help much appreciated.

You made a somewhat definitive statement there. What proof do you have that it won't download when using Google TV OS?

Your description of your intended Android box purchase gives me the idea that you don't check the detail.

Because I tried to do it on my Hisense TV which uses Google play TV system .

Did you enable Developer Mode beforehand? Check and install any updates before attempting to go into Developer Mode.

Didn't go in developer but I've read though that I can maybe download tTorrent to a usb and install it that way. Think I'll  buy the new box anyway and give it a go, thanks for the response.

The previous poster was right about Developer options -

I got an android IPTV connected to my TV with like 25,000 channels App you buy from Ali express or Ali Baba sites.

Have you tried just streaming directly on Stremio?

I have a MeCool KM6 Deluxe android box which I use with Stremio. For some items I download on my PC and just put them on a USB drive connected to the MeCool.

Best android box I've ever had.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the box I have now is quite old and doesn't support hdr10+ hence wanting a new one

I download from TVchaos UK and piratebay for all my movies and TV shows that's why I want the tTorrent app. The old box has a 500gig HDD so I can store a lot of content to watch when I like.

Most, if not all AB will have the option to sideload application, so that's not an issue.

Be aware that there are many versions of HK1 RBox. Not all will support HDR 10+/Dolby Vision. Caveat Emptor

Thanks Jake looking at the Rbox X4 it's a a few years old on Android 11 but has 128 gigs of storage and good write ups, seen the X8 Android 14 but that seems to have a few issues right now but I'll keep an eye on it to see if it gets updated.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got a new samsung smart tv with the new Tizen OS and have been trying to activate the ""INSTALL FROM UNKNOWN SOURCES"" to no success, many sites on the internet explain how to do it using the OLDER OS and what steps to take such as apps, settings, personal tab, security unfortunately the new OS doesn't have that options or maybe they do and I can find them, anybody familiar with the issue, help is appreciated... btw already activated developer mode

@Mavideol If you are in Developer Mode, what do you see when you go to All Settings?

What exactly is it that you are trying to do? Install an APK? Install a TPK? .wgt?

Maybe some help here:

thanks Jack was trying to install IPTV App but without success, visited many sites (including the one you provided) but my settings menu doesn't have the options they mention, thus decided to keep using my android box, thanks again for the feed back, btw, is there a way to convert APK into TPK

@Mavideol At least you already have an Android box.

No, you would have to recompile the application. Aren't there native IPTV applications for Tizen OS? There should be lots of possibilities for streaming directly from the TV. Looking for specific channels or TV series/movies?
