it's 18% now and will be 40% in another 10 years.  Before Americans ever wake up to this India will have been able to simply stroll in and take over an entire company and control the most widely used operating system in the world. This will end in disaster of course because despite India's massive population and alleged best engineers in the world, they have been unable to make any operating systems at all so clearly this is over their head.

Not to mention that their presence violates the tenets of the H1B law. That is, H1B are supposed to be for highly skilled labor where no American workers are available. The fact that Americans were actually training Indians is prima facie evidence that Americans were available because they were doing the jobs they were forced to train their replacements on. Either this was an outright violation or there was some organized bribery and subterfuge in the H1B from the very beginning.

It's a top-down problem. The teaching profession from grade 1 through university has degenerated into a situation where many faculty members haven't read a book since the day they themselves graduated. You can't expect the students to perform better than the instructors they have to teach them. And the corruption is rife, as exemplified by the ex-president of Harvard who plagiarized her published articles, few in number as they were.

That still doesn't make Indians a viable option. Indians with false credentials and fabricated degrees have flooded the program. The very basis of the program is built on fraud, nepotism, and bribery. Even a Harvard grad would be better.

If you pay people sh%tty wages to teachers, you won't attract the best people.

I don't care if it is Trump doing this, it's an improvement. I would ban all H1Bs, but this is a good start.

I support this decision. Most of the H1B workers I have worked with were not particularly talented. It's time for a serious discussion about the abuses of the H1B program.

Tahmina Watson, a founding attorney at Watson Immigration Law, told the BBC that the ruling could be a "nail in the coffin" for many of her clients that are mostly small businesses and start-ups.

"Almost everyone's going to be priced out. This $100,000 as an entry point is going to have a devastating impact," she added, noting that many small or medium-sized companies "will tell you they actually can't find workers to do the job".

"When employers sponsor foreign talent, more often than not, they're doing that because they have not been able to fulfil those positions," Ms Watson added.
