MG Car Smashes Into Shop in Chiang Mai, Tourists Escape Harm

An MG sedan plowed into a storefront in Chiang Mai, nearly striking tourists who were inside a nearby building. The driver reportedly lost control and smashed through the shop’s front wall. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported among customers or passersby. Police are investigating potential causes such as mechanical failure or driver error. The dramatic crash serves as a reminder of urban traffic hazards in busy tourist zones. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic but were relieved the outcome wasn’t worse.

Was it an electric MG?

Not that it matters.  I'm just trying to get this ball rolling...

Edit:  Unless it was in fully self driving mode.  That would be an important detail.

... No mention of possible DUI - which should be the first 'go to' here considering the extent to which people DUI here.

And...   there are 'urban traffic hazards' in any urban zone - being a tourist zone itself is rather irrelevant when it comes to terrible driving, DUI, mechanical failure or driver error...

Can't help but consider the article feeds into the subtle xenophobic nuance that such events might not occur in a 'Thai zone'... must be the influence of Tourism for such events to occur...  :whistling:

sniff sniff ... meow  :cheesy:

transam should be showing up soon

Probably following Gmap's directions, and didn't see the shop.

off topic .... it wasn't me 😎

Key takeaway (lacking in report) ...

MVA, no injuries, and MG noted as very safe.   Safe to drive an MG, and crash, with no worries of injuring self or others.

Hate to think of the results if it was a Toyota 😎

Damn I'm bored today ... time for a recipe search
