Fat and sugar are addictive. It takes 6 months of breaking that addiction to fix it.

For millions, and the companies know this, breaking that addiction never happens.

Its terrible there , everyone's really horrible, ex-pats and locals . Try somewhere else  Vietnam is better

  • Do yourself a favor and take care of your mental health before relocating. Thailand is not a good place to be unwell. Just some friendly advice.

You're assuming too. I've been to many locations and lots of food and drinks are junk.

Why don't you name 20 Thai dishes that are low in fat and sugar.

I haven't assumed anything here. All Thai dishes can be low in fat and sugar if the cook wants them to be. The only things that are high in fat are fried foods. Stir fried, done properly, isn't high in fat.

Only if you eat at home.

People get bored without addictions. If you drop 2 bad habits you have to find 2 good habits.

Or if you've asked others who have eaten there, and also can tell the cook what you want omitted, especially if you know the basic ingredients. I have done this many times both here and back home, and they easily comply.

Assuming what others do, as that's maybe how you are. I have no addictions besides fishing and hunting.

Common sense. Billions of people have bad addictions. You are addicted to gym and being right.

Isaan has thousands of old guys dating Thai women. That's why they live there.

Turn off your auto-troll feature please.

You are becoming annoying and off topic.

No, I like working out and when I argue with you, I just happen to be right. Who wants to be wrong and why would one argue if they are?

Thailand is a farming country, and the markets have all the same variety of veggies, fruits, fish, sauces, spices, cooking supplies, and such.

So you believe Chatuchak is the same as some small Isaan market?

I prove you wrong all the time.

Again, I've been to many markets, in many provinces, and they all carry the same basic things. The larger markets carry more of the same. Do you think Thais want anything more than what they've been eating for generations? If they want western, the go outside the markets

Actually it's the other way around lol

You can't even name 20 Thai dishes that are low in sugar and fat. You are so easy to prove wrong cause you don't know much.

Actually false. Some markets are just fresh. Some are tourist. Some are all cooked. Some larger ones are a mix. Proved you wrong again.

In small towns there isnt any western food yet Thais are fat. Every drink is loaded with sugar unless you say no sugar. Thai desserts are loaded with sugar or condensed milk. Roti is covered in it. Thais used to cook more. Now they eat out cause the cost is similar and more is available to eat.

Nonsense.

Thais have been eating fried chicken for decades. Sold in many markets.

You specifically said western food was not available in small towns.

You are wrong.

Many small towns don't have KFC.

Harrisfan, you have never proven me wrong, but if that makes you feel better. You might try re-reading all of what a person writes before replying, because your one liners don't do much to dispute but are just there to bait and argue, without having no basis of fact.

Look back, take your time, and go to every reply I've made, most of which are telling the OP some advice on where to possibly move to. My comments, along with many others in this and other posts, show how Chiang Mai is, and funny think, they all are saying the same things about the air. That it's just another big city is also true just like all others in Thailand. Whatever's outside Chiang mai is also outside other cities, although it might be a tad further away.

Proved you wrong on every topic. Wrong about markets. Wrong about restaurants. Wrong about depression.

Name 10 posters that agree with your Chiang Mai comments.

Names and addresses please, otherwise you are an exaggerating troll.

The constant trolling and threadjacking on this topic should tell OP everything he needs to know about the CM expat community.
