It is stupid of me....but seeing people wearing a baseball cap backwards (especially when it's sunny) drives me mad.

What do you mean "especially when it's sunny"? Why would anyone be protecting the back of their neck if there's no sun?

Correct and why no police follow up maybe id stolen, don't the bike shops take a pic of the rentor? that would solve everything

Because you have to pay the police to do their job here. Using social media is cheaper and has a higher chance of success.

I only went through this thread to read the comments 🙂

A Thai man is appealing for assistance in identifying a foreign suspect accused of stealing two laptops and a wallet from accommodations in Bang Tao, Phuket, on October 1. Ferosh "Eve" Suriya shared CCTV footage on Facebook, asking the public for any information about the man's identity. The theft reportedly occurred between 5:50 AM and 6:00 AM in the Soi Bang Tao 11 area.

The suspect captured on footage wore a grey long-sleeved T-shirt, black shorts, black trainers, and a blue cap. He allegedly parked his black motorcycle at a distance before approaching the location. The CCTV images showed the suspect carrying the two stolen laptops and putting the wallet into his shorts pocket before returning briskly to his motorcycle.

The motorcycle’s registration, 1 กร 5935, was traced to a rental shop in Phuket. Eve has not confirmed lodging a formal complaint with police but is offering a reward for information leading to the man's arrest. Those with valuable information are encouraged to contact Eve directly at 082-651-5195.

This incident adds to a series of thefts in Phuket involving foreigners. In August, another foreigner was caught on CCTV swapping a price tag in a clothing store, successfully purchasing items at a reduced price. However, details about her subsequent arrest were not disclosed.

Looking forward, increased vigilance and cooperation between residents and authorities may be pivotal in addressing such incidents. Eve's appeal highlights the importance of community involvement in ensuring safety and security. More updates are expected as the investigation continues.

Key Takeaways

  • CCTV footage shows a foreign suspect stealing in Phuket.
  • Victim offers a reward for information leading to an arrest.
  • This reflects a broader trend of thefts involving foreigners in the area.
