Read an article on existential boredom.......basically, no amount of resources, friends, pastimes......can counter it.

 

You can see, if it is a real thing, how even the wealthy might succumb to it.

A retired friend of mine boasts often that he doesn't follow any type of routine. He also twiddles his thumbs a lot, saying he needs to find a way to kill a few hours. Too bad when we have just this one short life, and some people are trying to kill their time and make it go faster.

Re-read those self help books you mentioned in prior posts.  Much of it is really in your mind. I'm rarely bored but I do get in ruts where I settle because life is good.  Paradoxically I get out of those ruts by slowing down and 'then' I start seeing more which get me out of the rut..

then boredom is not a question for you guys? You guys happy you got here, and just walking around makes you satisfied, and I admire those goys who just can be happy and do nothing or very little. 

 

those who meet up at the same pub and same people every day, play dart, play pool, watch soccer, solve world problems and eat the same food, the same beer brands, and never get tired of the same routines, I do admire.

 

Do not say you are like this, but it is from observation travelling around and living the same place for months, and seeing these people is quite a unique study and theIr social genes keeps them together like a brotherhood even they cheering for different football teams and Irish, Australian and New Zealand rugby seems to be the glue for some.

It is as simple as if you do get some lifestyle issues, do you start taking medication so you can continue the same path you are going, or do you change your lifestyle to adopt to the new situation? That’s our choice. Also mentally it takes some exercises. Mike laughed about my Nasal breathing and Harris Fan thought it was gay 😄

Thats great, nothing better than finding a paradise without expectations from before. 

 

20 years is a long time, and the longest I ever lived one place after my childhood was 13 years, but I travelled for work, so it was more an adress than a home those 13 years, and even I retired which turned out to be semi retired, the same pattern Continues. 

 

Hope I one day can settle for good one place and enjoy day by day without planning for something else than just be home and do my things at the farm and gym or whatever it is going to be.

The former. Basically she's saying that paradise is in the perception of the beholder. Thailand is a good example of this. I adore the life but it's not for everyone.
