A 32-year-old police officer from Bangkok’s Talad Phlu Police Station fatally shot his wife before taking his own life at their home in Nonthaburi on 6 October 2025. Investigators believe jealousy and ongoing marital conflict led to the incident, which left both husband and wife dead at the scene.

Police from Bang Kruai Station were alerted at around midday to a double fatal shooting in a housing estate in Bang Kruai district. Responding officers, led by Pol. Col. Kittisak Pongthanarak, found the bodies of Pol. Sub-Lt. Wongsathorn Tangtang, aged 32 and his 30-year-old wife inside their three-storey townhouse. Both were seated on a sofa in the living room, with gunshot wounds to the head.

Wongsathorn, who served as an investigator at Talad Phlu Police Station, was found wearing a blue T-shirt and grey jeans, with a 9mm handgun resting on his chest and his right hand still gripping the weapon. His wife, whose name is withheld, had been shot once through the left temple, with the bullet exiting through the right side and striking a utility pole outside the house.

Investigations revealed that the couple had rented the property for about two years and were living there with the wife’s grandmother and two young relatives. Relatives told police that Wongsathorn had recently discovered his wife was having an affair, prompting him to file for both divorce and an adultery case. The wife reportedly sent her grandmother and nieces back to their hometown out of fear for their safety.

Police believe the officer’s jealousy escalated, culminating in the fatal confrontation. Forensic officers confirmed that both deaths were caused by gunshot wounds from the same 9mm firearm. The bodies were sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for post-mortem examination.

Family members of the deceased woman told reporters that they were not surprised by the outcome, saying the couple frequently argued over jealousy issues.

Sad but given how many police I have seen with young women. Perhaps the affairs were done by both parties. I am curious if the Thai police give a mental evaluation regularly to make sure the state of mind of their police officers. This is the 2 officer killing someone is a few days.

women are taking a bit of a risk marrying men who use guns for a living and then stepping out on the marriage.
