Nobel Peace Prize goes to Newsom!

If Trump can broker a ceasefire in Gaza - however flawed - it will increase his chances immeasurably for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Just to stop this hideous carnage would be an outstanding accomplishment.

So far he hasn't brokered any deal ever, and how would he do tat with Gaza in the next 24 hours, when the prize is announced?

Also from the article I linked to, it is made clear that long standing peace agreements are looked at, not a temporary cease fire because a bully boy fired some scare tactics

  • CNN or MSNBC.   Just as credible.

  • No, of course, the prize won't be announced for another two days, but I thought I could bring a little cheer and laughter to fellow Americans. 🙂

You MAGAs continually spout that line about CNN and MSNBC.

Why don't you begin listing all the false things those networks have reported which you know to be false and for which they did not issue a retraction. I think AN has lots and lots of free pixels, so your list can be as long as you need.

I don't recall either network having to pay almost $800,000,000 for a lie, like Fox did, and I think is still fighting a similar case of a lie where they might have to pay $1.3 billion.

Anyway, go ahead and educate the masses here on what makes those networks not credible.

Besides, the Nobel committee has been burned several times before on "Mideast Peace Deals", only for the violence to start anew, again and again and again. I think they're done with Nobels for ME "peace deals". Perhaps the folks who provided humanitarian assistance to the people starving in Gaza will get the nod.

Trump is sending masked stormtroopers to US cities, which is not exactly peaceful. He is sending ICE psychopaths to grab 73 year old grannies in public parks, which is not exactly peaceful. He is firing missiles at boats off Venezuela where very weak "intelligence" says they might be drug runners. And let's not forget last year he threatened to invade Greenland, the land of a fellow Scandinavian nation.

The Guardian newspaper even ran an article saying Norway is bracing for Trump's reaction if he doesn't win the Peace Prize. The US is such a joke under the clown Trump.

Oh, and anyone who thinks this will "finally" end the Mideast issue....Jared has a waterfront condo for you, though maybe in Albania or Aberbaijidan (sic) or Rwanda, others places where the valor stealer Trump is trying to claim credit for stopping violence.

What lie?  The Georgia court case demonstrated that Fox's juiciest claim was true.  Haldeman demonstrated that the machines were easily hackable.  In court.

It's going the get even more interesting now that Dominion has been sold to the company of a former Repub election official.  Who plans to drop a bunch of pending lawsuits.  I hope they also open up company records to reveal who knew what, and when.  A'la Twitter Files.

For next year, yes

Ridiculous MAGA fact distortion for the gullible!

Fox News did not have to pay that huge sum just because they claimed that it could be possible to hack Dominion machines.

Fox News had to pay such a large amount of money for lying. It claimed that machines had effectively been hacked with the complicity of Dominion ( and Venezuela, etc...). At the same time, TV hosts were sending messages to each other that it was all B.S., confirming that they were knowingly lying on TV!

But don't let truth get in the way of a good MAGA lie! :coffee1:

I hope we find out soon, now that Dominion has been purchased by a former Repub election official.

I'm hoping he opens the company records to Matt Taibbi.  Like Elon did for The Twitter Files.  That wasn't the only reason Trump won, but that was probably one of the reasons that Harris isn't in the WH (and MSM and DNC credibility IS in the crapper).

You mean like the Kraken, the GOP failed lawsuits, the GOP failed recounts and audits, etc... :coffee1:

How'za 'bout you discuss the topic and not my ability to work around the Great Firewall?

Can't say I'm embarrassed, given that hundreds of thousands of IT geniuses work on that full time since it changes so fast.

I'd like to see how you'd operate where Google is blocked, along with most social media, most western news outlets, and a lot of browser extensions.

As wrong as Obama got one for doing nothing, and one for trying to do something and managed nothing in return, even he claims he did

Obama did not understand why he got one, and wasn't sure he should have picked it up

"Obama was uncomfortable with the award, saying that he didn't feel that he deserved “to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures"

The statement refers to Barack Obama, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 and expressed discomfort, stating he did not feel he deserved "to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures" who had previously won the award. This sentiment was widely reported and discussed in articles such as those on The Conversation and Scroll.in.

Why he said this:

Humility and respect for past laureates: Obama's statement reflected a feeling of humility and a profound respect for the historical significance of past Nobel Peace Prize winners, many of whom were seen as transformative figures in their own right.

Early award: He received the award relatively early in his presidency, in 2009, with the committee citing his efforts in nuclear nonproliferation and his promotion of a new approach to international relations, especially in outreach to the Muslim world.

What a contrast to Trump, such humility and grace, compared to constant bragging and constant self flattery.

Trump:  "I didn't win the No Bell Piece Price (how Trump thinks it is spelled).  50% tariffs on Norway!"

Norway: "Awesome.  Enjoy your $9/gallon gasoline."
