I send money occasionally for celebrations or needy items. 

 

In the past year I've sent her grandmother 2k baht for her birthday (I'd say this will be an annual contribution 😂) her younger brother school fees, 1k baht.

New year, visited the family, Isaan, it was her father's birthday 1k baht, plus a few big parties, BBQ, boxes of Chang beer etc., this was money well spent, I was treated like a king, beer glass always full, food prepared and hand fed by the girlfriend, in between talking to everyone. Well, one is Thai, she spent a few weeks here, but said she was a virign and wasn't comfortable to have sex. The economic situation is not built on Lao Khao, Gambling and Drugs! What you are talking about here, is not the general case, but more like exceptions. The reaction you want, is probably that we should think you are cool and macho. Sorry, it´s nothing cool or macho with your thread-starter.
