Line IDs

Featured Replies

Why am I sometimes unable to find a friend's id? It comes up user not found. I always double and triple check what I typed. If I have the QR code not a problem. This occurs too many times for it to be some random glitch. I also get the same problem when I give my ID to somebody, they say that they can't find it.

No more locating a contact with ID on Line. I'm not sure phone numbers still work. It's QR-Code only.

Been mentioned before on here. Also depends on settings but agree with @JackGats just send QR codes or receive them. Anything else normally a crap shoot

I have sent the person my QR code so see if they can add me. Why do they prompt you to insert ID or phone number if only QR works. I always used to think Line beat Whatsapp hands down but no longer. Line is pants compared to Whatsapp now. Why do Thais stick with Line.

Right I see to remember the other person has to have add contacts by ID switched on.

Wassup is far more reliable and efficient compared to Line and their much to many flaws in security or efficiency. Sorry.

The other advantage of Whatsapp as contact is by phone number so even if Whatsapp gets corrupted I still have the contacts phone number. If I ever lose Line I am right royally screwed. I think I am correct once you have added somebody you can't see their ID so you can't even have a back up copy of IDs. So unless you happen to have their phone number or email how can you contact them to get their Line ID again.

I do not disagree except unfortunately it is part of Meta..........So sorry but up to you and depends whether your Thai contact also uses it.....

Thinking about it it must the the Thai contact doesn't have find by id switched on.

I've been using Line for years and I've never been able to add someone using the ID option, but only with the number or QR code.

I set up a password for Line long ago. Never used it. I assumed it has also become useless like much else as a means of recovery.

Line is an Asian owned and operated system (Korean?). It operates Line Wallet and shopping/food delivery - both close to Thai hearts! And the general "cuteness" probably appeals to many of them!

Exact disadvantage for many!
I hate to give away my phone number to a chat partner!

And that's why it is essential to have in Thailand.

All family and many friends and businesses etc. have LINE and rarely Whatsapp.

I am have three immigration offices as "friends", so can't miss that Monday 13th is a holiday

BTW
QR code just contains a link (lineme....).
Can also use this equivalent.
