Trump’s DOJ vs Letitia James: The $52 Mortgage Scandal

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

So now the former US legal dodgeball champ of a president has the Justice Department going after Letitia James for supposedly trying to save a so-called $52 per month in interest on her mortgage. Even if the allegations are correct, over 30 years that is about $19,000, barely enough for a crappy used car or a weekend at Mar-a-Lago. Meanwhile, prosecuting it will cost taxpayers well over ten times that amount, probably even hundreds of thousands more. In the history of the DOJ, they have never prosecuted a bank fraud case this small. Normally, federal involvement only comes when the sums reach millions. Efficiency at its finest with Trump’s DOJ, pennies targeted and vast resources wasted while billionaire fraudsters and tax evaders stroll free.

It gets better. This mirrors James’s case against Trump, where he inflated his empire to cheat the system for half a billion and was found guilty of 34 real felony counts. Pot, meet kettle. This frivolous case against James is pure bupkis, yet MAGA bootlickers act like it is the next Watergate. This is not justice, it is a tantrum with orange-colored gavels. If weaponizing the law with baseless charges against your enemies is the new normal, America, you might want to wake up before the next “fraud” is forgetting to tip your DoorDash delivery guy.

Most likely the whole case will be dismissed on the basis of vindictive prosecution and for lack of merit, with an explanation that the prosecution was without legal substance. All I can say is that in a few more years, Pam Bondi is quite possibly going to need to get herself a good lawyer.

She should plea, give up her law license and apologize to the People of NY, She can then go on the lecture circuit

If there were any real chance to prove these allegations or show that laws were actually broken beyond a reasonable doubt, the DOJ prosecutors Bondi asked to take the case would not have either laughed it off, refused, or resigned. Simple math.

As I already stated, the whole case will likely be dismissed on the basis of vindictive prosecution and for lack of merit, with an explanation that the prosecution was without legal substance. The real losers in all this will only be the tax payers.

If the 34x convicted felon, sex offender and insurrectionist can become president then maybe that should become her next vocation. JAMES 2028.

Nice reference, if you're 200 years old.

Perhaps Hamilton Burger (Ham Burger) will prosecute the case.  (Clever character naming by Erle Stanley Gardner.)

After valueing her property for $15 bucks, while the left scream "THE PROPERTIES EITHER SIDE OF HERS ARE WORTH $2.5M", sorry lads we dont give a rats, hers is worth $15 bucks downhill with a tailwind😅🤣😂

Loving this game.

From the Comey case:

Court advised counsel of process to appoint out-of-district judge to resolve defense motion for disqualification of Lindsey Halligan

i.e. the appointment process for Ms. Halligan was invalid.

So there that dq would also apply to Ms. James although there is not a statute of limitations element as with Comey.

No argument there.  A bit surprised you would reference a "woke, lefty" like him though.

That's demonstrably not true. Trump has gotten away with treason, live on TV no less. And it looks like he's gonna push daisies before they can get him on the top secret docs he peddled at Mar-a-largo

And that's just the tip of a very big iceberg.

The entire forum hivemind backed deranged Jack Smith regardless of his invalid appointment. Bit late to trot this old complaint out now, don't you think?

The left engaged in lawfare, weaponization of the DOJ, concocting multiple hoaxes, impeached a POTUS twice for absolutely nothing, yet now blurt like babies when 1% in scale of their scumbaggery comes back to bite their backsides. It's PERFECT🤣😅

No. ORDERED (by the Court) that the first pretrial motions deadline in this matter is October 20, 2025.

You gotta love the way they twist and Screech and spittle froth and flop around like a gut hooked catfish.

It's like when some purple hair goes up to a cop and slaps him in the face and when the cop throws it to the ground it starts screaming you're hurting me you hit me you're hurting me.

Well, except guys who steal highly classified documents that both jeopardize national security and can reveal the identities of foreign clandestine sources. Oh, and guys who try to browbeat State secstates to commit voter fraud by "just find me...11,780 votes" despite being told the votes were already recounted and you lost. And let's not forget calling goobers to DC and then telling them to march to the Capitol and "fight like hell; otherwise you lose your country".

By the way, why don't you tell everyone what the charges are against James. Also, please explain why it's okay for the moron President to goof and post what was supposed to be a private message to his supposedly independent AG telling her to go after Comey, James and Sen Schiff.

Also, with all the various crime taking place in the US, isn't it just a wild coincidence that in her first week as the appointed lapdog head of the Eastern District Court of VA, Halligan only issues two indictments, who just happen to be 2 of the 3 people in the corrupt fascist clown Trump's goofed social media post?

Now, for specifics (of which MAGA cultists seem blissfully ignorant), the silly charge against James is that she stated the planned use of the home she was trying to buy in Virginia, not exactly sure at the time of applying for the mortgage whether she did plan to use the home as stated. Apparently, uncertainty is a crime worse than stealing classified documents or even threatening to hang the Vice President, which we know is a pardonable crime where the convicted should be compensated for time lost in jail. Also okay is being on tape taking a bag with $50,000 in cash and saying you can arrange government contracts in exchange.

Trump is one of the most petty men to have ever lived, and there's no question that he is attempting to weaponize the justice department, the sad part of it is that nobody is fighting back, and he is moving America towards autocracy.

And all of this is coming from a man that has committed fraud so many times, it is very likely nobody knows the full extent of his fraud. We do know he was convicted of fraud but there are probably dozens of cases that were either never brought to trial, or his battery of of attorneys were able to successfully defend.

The federal government alleges James bought a three-bedroom home in Norfolk using a mortgage loan that required her to use the property as her secondary residence and did not allow for shared ownership or "timesharing" of the home.

The indictment claims the property "was not occupied or used" by James as a secondary residence, but was instead "used as a rental investment property", which was being rented to a family of three. James's attorney, Abbe Lowell, said: "We are deeply concerned that this case is driven by President Trump's desire for revenge."

In the civil fraud case brought by James, Trump was found liable of falsifying records to secure better loan deals, leading to a $500m (£375m) fine. The penalty was thrown out by an appeals court, which called the fine excessive, though it upheld that Trump was liable for fraud.
