Those making reservations, will be observed, so best to check the app, as your charging session will be cut short, if someone reserved a time slot on the cable you are using.  So please promptly disconnect when your charging is stopped.  And get the hell out of the way 

 

In almost 3 years, I think we reserved 2X, one just on our last O&A, as weekend and in a tourist area.

 

Also, if at 90% or above, and someone is waiting, it would be nice to unplug and let them in.  Do you really need that last <10%, as it goes in slower, especially that last 5%,  For the MG ZS, last 5% takes about 20 mins sometimes, so we rarely wait, unless still eating, and nobody waiting.

I am envisaging guys who reserve even though they are an hour away. Or people reserving many like the airlines do when selling seats.

 

So on your 2X reservations how much time ahead dis you reserve?

Built in safeguards against that.  

1. some charge for reserving

2. time slot are allotted, and you book that slot.

3. you have grace period to show, then it releases that cable to drive in customers.

 

We reserved 15 ish minutes before arriving, knowing we'd be there at that time, or a few minute earlier.

 

MG for instance, can't reserve until 15 min prior, (no charge), not sure about grace period before cancelled.

 

We really don't bother reserving, unless necessary, rare, 2X in 3 yrs, as there's another CS right down the road in most areas, especially the major roads, and not so major roads.   

 

O&A probably 17k of our 51k kms, and never a problem finding an open CS.  Keeps getting easier, as they add CS, so demand & profits are there.   

 

Now they are installing 'Hubs', anywhere from 6-12 charging cables available.    Pretty impressive actually, considering all the unhappy EV'ers in other countries, crying about not enough & too expensive.
