Maybe. My main point was that - now, these days - it's not a taboo for a 'normal' Thai woman (of any age) to have a farang husband/boyfriend. That's a really big change on 20-30 years ago. So that's why we see (in Bangkok, at least, which is a better barometer), so many younger and older Thai/Farang couples and families. You also see them at resort areas in Hua Hin, Phuket, etc.

 

The Thai-Chinese Hi(gher)-So middle aged women with farang men (or Korean or Japanese) are usually on their second relationship, having divorced the first Thai-Chinese guy (e.g. they did their initial duty for their parents to get access to networking/guangxi, had their kids, he's got mia nois) and now she wants her life back. I think that is among the various reasons for what we are seeing. I know at least four women that fit that category - my wife's friends. Some live here, some abroad (USA, Sweden, Spain, Denmark).
