Law breaking Israelis causing more problems in Thailand

How scary! Encountering people acting differently than you! Better stay home and buy better locks.

It's not good or bad. I just felt like I had to cater to them or react how they needed, rather then just being myself and eating alone in silence.

  • Australians seem to be a bigger problem of thailand. Theres no israeli posters here posting anti west propaganda like most people here

  • I consider this entire topic yet another malicious transparent effort to insult all Jewish Israeli nationals.

  • This is really bad news. The abuses by the Israelis will mean expats will soon be unable to use such "borderline" methods like Thai nominees and agents for retirement, as the Thais will crack down on

well, since you did not call me a racist pig .......I will admit that i am not up to date on Jewish cuisine.

I do have fond memories, however.... of my grandmother's Matzoh ball soup .

Chabad in Asia anyway would be doing Israeli foods. Not Eastern European foods.

You didn't have to do anything. Also I wouldn't consider your experience with that family as typical.

Reminds me of a neighbor I had from Chicago.

She would visit small midwestern towns and they would feel for horns.

Again, just more fabricated theoretical nonsense from you @fredwiggy. The fact is that Samui would have very many nationalities and be super busy, even before the Israelis overran the place. It's just that the other nationalities understood respect. They wouldn't shout at old women, as they know that Thais are family. Shouting at an old woman is like you insulting their own grandmother. Cannot.

They were just disrespectful, to the point wherein their own government had to put out an advisory, telling them to behave. You don't have a clue as to what is being discussed, but here you are, as usual, pretending like you do. I guess you are going to follow up with more meaningless waffle, but no substance. If you don't have experience, then try biting your tongue and just read. You might actually learn something.

Israelis have been visiting the country for many decades. Why do you think something like this would happen now? Or is it just another scare story — part of the recent wave of anti-Israeli hysteria?

Because now Chabad is involved. We hear of issues in Ko Phangan and Pai, where, coincidentally Chabad have opened Chabad houses recently.

Israelis are attracted to these Chabad houses, these Chabad houses create their own dynamic. Israeli activists gather seed money to fund the purchase of land and the building of the Chabad houses and then Chabad assist with operations there.

Chabad is like a franchise for Jewish Orthodox lifestyle needs, a bit of a KFC for the Orthodox, but instead of fried chicken, they serve up Jewish culture.

This drive to build Chabad franchises in Thailand is relatively new, there's only 9 so far, including all the recent ones.

We can already see the writing on the wall. They will not stop at Phuket, Pattaya, BKK, CM, Ko Phangan and Pai, there will be Chabad Houses in all areas of Thailand, just as there are now in the US, Canada, and many other countries. These houses then of themselves draw Israeli and jewish visitors.

It's not at all new @Cameroni Chabad on Samui was built twenty one years ago. It's a gradual thing...like they did in Palestine.

Pai locals question set up of Chabad House

LOCAL residents of Pai district, northern Mae Hong Son province, still question the validity of a Chabad House being set up in their midst

Tourist Police had also held a meeting with Pai police station officers, district officials and entrepreneurs on problems besetting this district and it was agreed that strong and serious action must be taken with focus on inspecting accommodation, service establishments, shops and important tourist attractions in the area.

Visitors will be checked for overstaying or working illegally here while guidelines will be disseminated so that both tourists and entrepreneurs better understand Thai law in order to reduce wrongdoing.

As the article makes clear, we are all thrown into the same pot as the Israelis. All foreign visitors will be under greater scrutiny by police in Pai, not just Israelis.

JakeC, this is yet another assumption on your part, because you are guessing on my experience.  You saying you have more experience means nothing as you never prove it, and are again, only here to try to disprove me as you've never done before. I don't fabricate. I speak facts and personal experience. I have been around Israelis for decades, in many large cities.  Going to Israel has nothing to do with this topic.  How long did you live in Samui? Show us evidence where they ruined Samui. You seeing an incident or two isn't enough, as all other nationalities have proven themselves anti social in all Thai areas at some time or another. This is about Pai, where some have said the Israelis are ruining the place. Is it prejudice or facts? And again, are they affecting you or other expats personally or are you answering for others?

Now that we are on a more civil level  ( its really not that hard 😁)   thank you for updating me on what to order ...

as for my "feelings" about Jewish people,  they are the same as ANY other group .   I judge 100%  on what i experience or observe personally .   Judging just that one person,  or group they might be among at the time.

I personally have had 2 bad experiences with Jewish business people .  ( and i have not been in many business dealings) .    They displayed an unpleasant characteristic sometimes "attributed"  to Jews.  I have also seen a few tourists here act in a manner , at a restaurant and a guesthouse.  that made me angry .

Again,  i have seen the same with Americans and some Europeans .

People do tend to form some biases,  and generalities .   Worst of all is when they do so NOT  from personal experience .    There's good and bad .     Very few "groups"  act better when they are together.

The "average" Thai ... not in tourist areas...... has my vote for being the most unprovocative, unagressive, and most pleasant group of people that i have been around.    That,  is why i live here,

I curse the day i opened my big mouth and told some farangs how great Thailand is .    That was around forty years ago !    Have you seen how many there are now ???    They're everywhere !!

oy vey  !!

@fredwiggy Just more of your rambling nonsense. You have ZERO experience, but yet insist on waffling on as per usual.

Did you want me to take videos and post them here? You aren't working with a full pack. Should I ask you to do the same? Please provide proof that everything written in the Bible actually happened. Video or it didn't happen? Do you see how foolish your posts. Hundreds of poeople saying much the same thing. Their own government issuing advisories, not once, but twice...and yet you ask me for proof...

You aren't serious, but just a Troll. You have nothing to contribute, as you have no knowledge at all.

My girlfriend is Jewish...what are you talking about @Yagoda? You just have a seriously repulsive character. I have no idea why...but I can hazard a guess. Just your nature.

As to Americans...they certainly aren't the most loved. But they are certainly not as poorly rated as your lot.

But then again, Jewish people and Muslims are co-existing fine in Western countries.

I think Jews get along just fine with most people who are are not invading them or killing and raping their citizens.  Then they quite rightly get a bit upset.

Its only the pathetic woke  western european countries who reward invaders with accommodation , benefits , and lenient treatment in the courts and of course citizenship for their alleged family members. and who firmly believe that other countries are in someway obliged to follow their example

Chabads restaurant down by Khao San Road had it last time I buzzed by there with a friend, maybe in 2016, who could get us in with his American passport and "jewish" name (he is actually baptized Catholic but thats how it is in the USA). No cheeseburgers. Loaded with Thai cops. Great chicken soup.

Guess. Go ahead. Who is the most despised people on earth? Does your gf know you use this Forum to spew your Stormfront nonsense.

I can state that I've visited both the place near the Khao San road and Samui. Whilst finding some of their ilk despicable, I don't treat people badly.

She's my girlfriend @Yagoda Supports me in everything and is equally repulsed by you and your behaviour. Just so you know...

To you of course it's nonsense. You aren't too swift at comprehending things, as you've proven multiple times in the past. I already mentioned I've been around Jews all my life. How do you see that as no experience? That you visited Israel makes you an expert? That you stayed on Samui a time and saw whatever makes you an expert? Hardly.

Look at the top of the page and see what the OP wrote, a person who's proven his prejudice towards Israelis before. It says Law breaking Israelis causing more problems in Thailand.

When I came into this topic and replied,it was asking some why they are bothered by Israelis. Was it prejudice or personal experience with them. I'm still asking that question, as Israelis are likely not causing any trouble towards expats. If they're causing trouble, like all other nationalities do at some time here, then there should be evidence, and again, that's on the Thais to decide what to do.

You came in thinking I have no experience with Israelis. Yet another false assumption on your part. If I see evidence, then I believe it may be happening. I did not dispute that some Israelis are causing trouble in Thailand as the news has shown this. Where are hundreds of people saying expats are affected by Israelis here? If you would read, and understand what I've said, maybe you might come back with a better suited reply , and not the usual trolling.

Do they actually object to anything or just ignore it? It's loss of face for city management.

I went in there with an Israeli business man long time ago, great food hospitality. Was around 1997, think it was the only one in Bangkok

You're falling into the deliberately set trap of conflating complaints about the behavior of Israeli tourists with being anti-Jewish.

Oh come  on, the anti jewish sentiment here  is so strong its palpable , for some its just a way to spread more negativity without getting a suspension

There’s nothing surprising here. Take 2 billion Muslims and add a huge number of good old antisemites from around the world. The funny thing is, Israel is actually a very small country with a tiny population. Yet after reading a thread like this, you’d think Israel were another India or China - Israelis everywhere, supposedly plotting to “conquer” Thailand and who knows where else.

I know the muslims don't particularly like them , but what has caused all the venom spewing out of  so many "christian"   western mouths , especially the geriatrics on here

What's really spurring them on,? Social media and the need to virtue signal ? or have they always harboured covert anti Semitic feelings? and this is their opportunity for release?

It 's not the fictional genocide or military conflict as there is plenty more of that in the world that goes on without a murmur of protest    So what is driving them on?

There will never be enough Jews living or visiting Thailand to support you're insanely fear mongering paranoid projection.

Well obviously because they've created a lot of hatred of Israel due to their land theft in Palestine and the killing of 20,000 children there. So most people dislike them intentionally, to the point some actively want to harm them.

based on reports and figures provided by Hamas  :cheesy:    are you serious?
